“Salzburg - Hallstatt - Gosausee - St. Wolfgang - Attersee - Vienna”
About Hertz:10.0/10
It was quite convenient. The location was easy to find, not many people were in line, and all procedures were done in about 20 minutes from entering the shop to getting in the car.
I booked a Mercedes, but was given a Hyundai i30 at pickup, and they insisted they are in the same group, like BMW... How can Mercedes and Hyundai be considered the same tier? Why doesn't the website specify Hyundai when booking, but give a Mercedes at pickup? After a lot of back-and-forth discussion, they finally gave me a Citroen. However, the car's condition was decent and fairly new.

They overcharged and were very rude. They didn't even provide a breakdown of the charges, just said that's the price, take it or leave it! Infuriating.

There wasn't much service to speak of. You sign the paperwork and they tell you where the car is parked; you pick it up yourself. Since it's a franchise, Hertz membership cards are not valid. During the rental period, there was cross-border travel, and they charged a daily cross-border fee for the entire rental period.
Rented a car on short notice. While the service lacked some flexibility, it was overall acceptable and quite standard. Everything went smoothly and quickly.
The service attitude was poor and very impatient. When I had questions about the bill during pickup, they were rude and said if I didn't want the car, I should cancel the order. During drop-off, they nitpicked everything. When I wanted to call for confirmation, they said they were busy and couldn't wait. Overall, this was my first and last time using Hertz.
The store is very close to both Innsbruck and Salzburg train stations, making pickup and drop-off very convenient. I booked a BMW X1, but it wasn't available, so I got a same-category BENZ instead, which was also very good to drive.
The service attitude at the Salzburg store when picking up the car was great. A handsome guy handled our transaction. We originally booked a Mercedes A-Class but were upgraded to a BMW 420, which was a pleasant surprise. Later, when discussing insurance matters, he was relatively patient. However, when we called the store to report a scratch during the rental period, the guy who answered was very impatient and hung up after a couple of sentences. Deducting one star for that.
