Be cautious when picking up a car at the airport; you'll have to pay extra airport fees. The efficiency of the staff in Mexico is incredibly low. Expect to wait in line for about an hour, and then the staff will smilingly scam you out of your money. Despite telling them I already had insurance, they added insurance to my order in Spanish. I only found out when returning the car that this was an extra insurance charge! Terrible!
Hertz made
Me wait for 20 mins to be serviced, gave me a Micra basic car although I paid for a better car and I had to spend 20 mins registration and waited 40 mins for my car after in the 35+ degrees

The car was an older Polo with dents and bruises. Not a mid size car. The rental company did charge us more than the actual rent for an additional driver. Rentover 30 days was not possible. We had to return the car and exchange it to another on day 30 for the last 12 days. Overall the transparency of hidden/additional cost should be improved. But in comparison Hertz was still the most affordable just more than double than was was budgeted.
The car was not the one we choose, so the insurance was more expensive. The car was delivered 1h after the rental agreement. The interior of the car was very dirty.
This was a horrible experience and I will never use Hertz again. Upon arrival at the counter late at night with a 1 and 3 year old I was advised that they didnt have our vehicle stating the person before us didn't return it. I specifically rented a van and paid extra for a car seat because of the size and young ages of my family members. Not only did they not have my vehicle but they made no effort to provide me with a replacement of any size. 8pm at night, in a foreign country, with young kids and was not offered any sized car. Instead I was forced to go to one of your competitors and had to pay significantly more for a small compact car which didnt fit all our luggage and had no car seats for my children. I have never been so dissapointed in a travel supplier and I'm a corporate event planner who deals with multiple travel suppliers a day.
Le délai pour prendre la voiture a été trop longue. La personne que m'a donné la voiture a été trop insistente pour que je prendre une assurance additionnel.
“Typical car hire experience - slow collection process with insurance up sell - otherwise great”
About Hertz:8.3/10
Had a long wait to collect the car from Hertz standing in the queue with up sell to go premium and jump to the front. Tried to sell additional insurance to me using scare tactics despite explaining I had an annual policy covering the excess and didn’t want it. Car was clean except on front where washer fluid was probably spilt during a top-up. Taking photos of the condition of the car and emailing to the customer is a nice innovation by Hertz. Car was problem free throughout hire. Dropping off the car was super easy and quick. If only the collection could be like this.

Simple and efficient booking. I have used before and will use again.
“Got to Hertz showed them my prepaid voucher and was told that they did not have my car rental. Was”
About Hertz:2.0/10
Got to Hertz showed them my prepaid voucher and was told that they did not have my car rental. Was overcharged. Hertz ended up refunding me for upgrade. However, I was still charged for taxes which was all included via my voucher. Terrible business.
Worst company ever. Hertz cancun is a pure robbery. You are in front of Mexican sales guys in Armani jeans doing all they can to scare you and charge you their high insurance coverage. On which they surely have a huge commission. They fear you about Mexico and it’s roads, use poor sales speech but you have no choice to take it because for me it was either their insurance to pay or a huge drop off fee in another location. I had to pay 1200$ instead of the 480$ in my easyrent voucher. Worst holidays start ever
I initially went to the store at Terminal 2 and was told that they didn't have the Jeep, so they gave me a Nissan SUV instead. Later, they tried to sell me insurance, and when I refused, they seemed unprofitable (an unexpected twist: they asked for a deposit of 12,000 local currency). Eventually, they sent me to Terminal 1. Reluctantly, I made my way to Terminal 1 with my luggage. Everything went smoothly there, and the deposit was reduced to 8,000.
