Clean vehicle, but there was some existing (slight) damage. Overall good experience, and counter staff made it easy to add another driver as well as change drop off location.
Like: Upon arrival I walked into the Hertz section of the car rentals and I got helped immediatly. Friendly agent.
Very helpful person at the car itself. Gave me the tip to photograph all dents and scratches and also advised me to put my luggage + my handbag in the boot to avoid any trouble at the robots. Dislike: The boot of the car had been smashed by a previous user. The lock of the 5th door didn't function properly.
Fortunately my journey was short and I didn't have to stop at many robots because the door had opened and all my luggage + my handbag were exposed and for grabs. This car shouldn't have been rented out without fixing it.
The staff at Lanseria is clearly incompetent and not shy of lying to your face. When I collected the car on the 26th of December it was clear that I needed cross border papers to visit Swaziland. The lady behind the counter promised me that she would arrange the papers and that I would be able to collect them after 48 hours. When I called on the morning of the 31st nobody knew anything about any cross border papers. I drove out to Lanseria to find out what to do because I was travelling to Swaziland on the 2nd of January. I spoke to the branch manager who assured me that he had already sent the email to head office requesting the cross border papers and that there was a fait chance of getting the papers on the 2nd of January. When I arrived at 8 o'clock on the morning of the 2nd of January, once again nobody knew anything about my cross border papers. The branch manager was sick at home and the supervisor had no idea what to do about it. I urged him to phone the branch manager who replied that he would send the email to head office immediately. This is what he said he had done on the 31st of December!
After getting upset with the the supervisor, he called the head office and no one answered. He told me to wait for an hour and he would try again. Once again I had to get upset with the supervisor to make him call the head office until someone would answer. Finally he took the hint and after 45 minutes of phone calls and filling in forms I got my cross border papers.
All of this could have been avoided if the lady had organised the cross border papers when I collected the vehicle on the 26th of December.
Good experience except they wanted twice as much deposit as was shown in my qeeq booking, when I showed them they said I had to pay the larger deposit or I couldn’t have the car.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
It showed a deposit amount but I had to pay over double that upon picking the car up.
