Poor customer service provided by Sage. Apparently it was her first week at ACE she is originally from Hertz. She showed poor customer service skills and at times rolled her eyes like I was stupid.

My expectations were not met. I was mucked around on pickup with the paperwork and my car was not ready. I had to buy additional insurance which cost $25 per day.
Waited way to long and almost made me late for the wedding i was attending - drop off was late due to traffic and I was told I would be charged an extra day even though I waited 1.15 hrs at pick up
Car was good bit tatty but was what we expected for the money, think gear box may have been on the way out but was absolutely fine for running around wellington. Bit slow on the pick up at the office but drop off was quick and easy. Also easy to get shuttle from airport and staff were friendly and helpful.

The Counter staff did their job but weren't that friendly. Due to technical problems I wasn't able to receive a copy of the contract upon leaving the shop/ yard (= their printer was not working) and I was told it would be emailed to me ... and I subsequently found out it was emailed to someone completely different ... so perhaps now that 'wrong' person has got some of my personal information (= not happy about that). And the Staff didn't walk around the vehicle with me before I left ... and so IF there were problems (e.g. marks, scratches, damage) then there could well have been delays and issues upon returning the vehicle and leaving promptly/ efficiently. (Fortunately there were no disputes before leaving the shop/ yard.)
Their cars are not new and they all seemed to have some damage. I witnessed many customers equally perplexed by the amount of damage if their assigned car. Their fleet did not look very new. Even though I had a guaranteed car make and model, they were unable to provide me with what I expected. They had one model but it was the "personal vehicle" for one of the employees and it was not clean/ready for a customer to drive and was probably an early 2010s model.

It took a while to get our car. When we arrived, the car wasn’t ready to drive. Staff had to examine it and wash it. There were some small hiccups, but at the end, staff were able to accommodate us with a car we liked.
When I went to leave the depot I couldn’t find my way out, no one told me I had to leave by driving through barrier gates and right through the airport car park? When I tried to return the car my phone map couldn’t find Ace car rental at the airport and would only direct me to the city It was very frustrating and worrying as I thought I might miss my flight.

It was pretty quick to get the car. Dropping it off, it was busy and not enough staff to help everyone, meaning a delay. The shuttle almost left with my bag onboard because someone was still checking my car and the other staff was wanting to leave to take the other customers without waiting. The staff checking the car said it was okay for me to leave. Which was good. But the delay added to the nerviousness of getting to the airport on time.
The car had not been (re) cleaned again before we took it, there were a number of bird droppings on the car. I've never seen this before . . . The inside was clean. We often have difficulty at the airport finding the area for the shuttle, more information should be included with the booking.

Have your app, very easy. Like the fact that there isn't an extra charge for 2nd driver. Don't know who is responsible for helping the renter find the shuttle at the airport . . . Ace or Easy??
we got a little upgrade, I think as a Toyota Corolla vs Nissan Tiida, a bit better. The service was good but a bit long on pick up and excellent and fast on drop off. In both cases, very friendly.
Ace rental car pick at Wellington Airport not easy to find as not sign posted. On arrival car was not ready and was very dirty inside and out. Previous customers belongings still in the car. While waiting the staff had to clean the vehicle. Vehicle not up to standard with a lot of dents and scratches all over the paint work. Brakes were squeaky and back passenger doors were faulty and hard to open and close. Acceleration very slow at take off and brakes not up standard. In a place like Wellington that is very hilly brakes need to be perfect.Vehicle in bad condition and i would probably have second thoughts about hiring from ACE again.
