The car was good -- it had some dings but we didn't mind. It had about 35,000 miles on it. The inside was very clean and it drove great. The only thing that slowed us down is the actual airport's set up. There's no way except for at one terminal to just walk out to the rentals, and we had to wait a long time for an airport bus to bring us out to the car rentals area. Then, it's a second shuttle that EasyRentCars supplies out to their off-site location (they were on the ball, and it didn't take long to get there -- again, it took forever to get onto the airport shuttle). Once at their location, the staff were friendly and got us in our car and going quickly.
The booking system did not seem to work well at all and they couldn't process the paperwork properly. Most problematic was the damage deposit, which is not a "hold" as it is with other companies, but was instead a charge, which would then be refunded. This is problematic when dealing with another currency as there is an exchange difference in a refund versus a charge which costs us money. When we complained about this we were told "its company policy" -- of course, why wouldn't it be? -- and then that our alternative was to pay $60 per day. It's just wrong. When checking out I asked to have a copy of the posting so I could be sure that it would be refunded, and I got some paperwork that did not show any amounts.
I was very disappointed. I had booked this car specifically because it said I was going to get a Mercedes. When I showed up they told me I was getting a Chrysler. This was for a special occasion and was supposed to be a surprise. When I asked if there was a Mercedes available the person at the counter told me they were all out that day. I later found out that the company doesn’t even carry Mercedes but they use that to bait and switch and promise a Mercedes or something similar. To me this was very deceitful. It also took a very long time to actually get the car almost 2 hours from the time we got in line. There were only two other people ahead of us but the service was extremely slow. Once we actually got the car it was dirty and had to wait again for them to clean
Shuttle driver told us they were out of cars, and a long line already waiting. Would be at least 1.5 hours before anything would be available. We had 2 small kids in need of a nap, and a short vacation where we didn't to lose an entire day waiting at the airport, so booked with another company and never got a car from them. Lesson learned - if it's too good of a deal, it probably is.
I booked a car from February 12 till February 13 and they charged me 500 deposit, I thought it would be on hold and won’t affect my credit card but unlike others they did charge me 500$ and it reflected in my account affecting my credit score and those fees for interest (though I had 0 balance on my credit card before). Why do they actually charge deposit instead keeping it on hold?!!!
The car had a few issues. The needs service light came on just after renting, the tire pressure sensors went off and i had to fill them, the car had been wiped out but the bucket must have been dirty and the car was streaky. The gauge cluster was the most noticable. Overall not a bad experience.
“Woman with red hair at front desk is a liability to your company”
About Easirent:2.0/10
Never picked up the car because the woman at your front desk never told me about the “unlimited miles” option and told me I would be responsible for 69 cents for every mile over 100 miles per day. She was awfully rude, yelled at me about where I parked because it was my first time there . Spoke to Bruce on customer service and he opened up a claim to get my money back seeing as the woman never properly explained how to do unlimited option for
Miles which I needed
The reason to wait over 60 min. to pick up the rental car, due by the clients holding up time too long with easyrent customer services staffs. I do not know if the clients did not have enough ID to provide, that was the reason I stayed on line for 60 min. When my turn to be with customer services staff, it took only 10 min. done for my rental car.
The car had obviously been in a front end accident. The front fascia was cracked, and there was damage on the rear fascia as well. The car had a horrible shake over 60mph, it was unsafe to go faster than 70mph. The tires were also bald and spun very easily despite the vehicle being a Toyota Yaris that had no real power.
Picking the car up took two hours from the time I walked into the office, not including the 30min wait for their shuttle. It was ridiculous and I was pretty upset after two and a half hours of jumping through hoops of them trying to upsell me everything and anything to be given a damaged vehicle.
Overall it was super cheap so I'm not really upset, but I wouldn't recommend renting a car through Easirent to the faint of heart.
EasiRent might be the most misleading name of all time. Not only was the vehicle not what I wanted, it was so dirty and so smelly. I was forced to “upgrade” $87 just so I could get a clean car. Once I finally got the car, it was completely out of gas. Had to go straight to the gas station. I mean, really? They also give you a hard time about insurance. If you have your own, they don’t believe you. They make you pull up your car insurance info to prove it. Does any of this sound “Easi”? 0/10 never using again. Which is a shame because I rent 50-60 cars per year with work.
“Kenya went above an beyond to add the best customer service we’ve ever received.”
About Easirent:10.0/10
The shuttle service drive was courteous, friendly and personable. Kenya provides world class customer service, great conversation and was very helpful with all of our questions. Thank you Kenya
The customer service and car were excellent.
the instructions in the confirmation email as well as the voice mail regarding airport shuttle pick up are quite confusing.
1. the shuttle service from FLL airport ( is great) takes you to a rental car place with multiple rental car agencies non of which are EasY rent but there is an EZ rent. I arrived at night time and didn't notice any instructions at that point on how to access other rental car agencies
2. when you call the EasY rent number it tells you to select a terminal from the airport (which prompted me to get back on the shuttle to the airport before i selected a random terminal-- since i was no longer at the airport)
3. once you select the terminal it then instructs you to take the shuttle to the rental car place and walk to the bus stop. (ALL of this could be avoided by typing the instructions in the confirmation email)
4. once and the shuttle bus stop the EasI- Rent shuttle comes. (not E-Z or EasY, but EasI) this was very confusing and i wasn't even sure if i was going to the right rental car place. The workers and shuttle driver were all very kind however equally confused.
Long story short- somehow you all should make this a little more clear that EASY is the booking company and EASI is the rental car place and include the proper shuttle instructions in the email!
