Please contact the staff to pick you up to MODE - Rentals Auckland Airport car rental when you arrived.

Check-in at www.moderentals.co.nz/check-in is recommended at least two hours before pick-up. If your pick-up is after-hours, check-in is mandatory at least two hours before the end of business day. Once you have collected your luggage and cleared customs, call us to order your shuttle. During business hours: call us on (09) 373 3925. After hours: call our after-hours agent, Heartland Hotel, on (09) 275 4540. Domestic Terminal: To meet your shuttle, exit the terminal through door 8 near the Jetstar arrivals. Head across the pedestrian crossing to the far lane. Our driver will meet you in the off-airport pick-up area. International terminal： To meet your shuttle, head to exit Door 8, cross the pedestrian crossing, and follow the sign “Off-Site Shuttle Transfers”. Carry on until you reach the Off-Site Transfer Area. Once you have arrived, please follow the sign “Shuttle 5 & 6” and wait at Shuttle Lane 5 for your collection.

I reserved the car for 5:30 PM, but the rental company closed at 5:00 PM and charged me an extra 50 NZD. They didn't wait for me, and since we were unfamiliar with the place, we spent 40 NZD on a taxi to their office, only to find no one there! Instead, they left the car keys at a hotel front desk for me to pick up. There were no buses or taxis nearby, making it almost impossible to get there. Thankfully, we met a Chinese employee from another rental company who saw our plight and kindly drove us to the hotel, so we could finally get the car.

There was no public transit or taxis nearby, making it impossible to reach. Luckily, we met an employee from another car rental company who helped us out of sympathy and took us to the hotel, and we finally got the car.

Overall, the process felt very slow. I called right after landing, and after half an hour, no one came to pick me up. I ended up taking a taxi to the store myself. This was my third car rental in New Zealand, and this company had the slowest service. Make sure to read reviews on Zuzuche carefully.

Very disappointed about all the hidden costs. Extra costs to reduce the amount held as bond on your credit card. Extra costs to sort tolls. Extra costs for after hours drop off. Will never use this discounted car hire again because of this. Will go with a reputable company based at the airport that has an all inclusive price.
