This is my second time renting a car, and the staff at the store were extremely warm and attentive. I noted that it would be best to have a car with GPS, and the store replaced the vehicle with one that had navigation. I appreciate it very much.
We booked a Mercedes C200, but when we arrived at the store, the staff informed us that they didn't have any Mercedes available. German precision, they say, but I don't see it here. We didn't specify the model at the last minute; it was reserved well in advance. Why didn't they reserve the car for us knowing we had an order?
The key point is that when we arrived at the Europcar parking lot, we indeed saw at least two C200s parked there, which means the staff was deceiving us.
Extremely frustrating, this kind of blatant dishonesty, lying straight to our faces without any cover-up, shows a complete lack of respect for us. This initial experience can be rated zero.
It was average. The process took quite a long time, and at the end, they said the pickup time was 15 minutes early, requiring an extra day's charge (early pickup and return were not allowed). They persistently pushed insurance; you need to be firm in declining. The counter only handled key collection, with no staff accompanying you to the car, which means if there's an issue with the car, you have to walk back a long way to find them.
The clear green logo stands out. The storefront is small, but inside it’s neat and clean. Everything is labeled in German, but the staff can communicate in English.
The rental office is near the train station, but there's another one close by, which could be confusing. However, it wasn't a big issue.
