When renting the car, they directly charged me $14 per day for tolls without asking. I assumed it was a pre-charge for tolls, but even though I didn't use the toll roads, they still deducted $14 per day upon return. Everyone should be cautious in the future.
The rental store was really hard to find, located in the basement with no signs at all. Fortunately, the Hertz staff told me where it was. The car was very new, a Ford Mondeo hybrid. After driving 2000 kilometers in seven days, I felt a bit nostalgic when returning it.
DOLLAR's service is good, the prices are attractive, and the vehicles are in decent condition. The procedures for picking up and renting the car are straightforward. Highly recommended.
The queuing time was quite long, probably because there were many people near the airport. We waited for more than an hour.
There was no extra sales pitch.
However, we booked a Ford Focus or a similar class car, but we received a Chevrolet SPARK. When I asked at the counter, the staff said this is considered the same class. Who knows how they classify them? At least in China, these two are definitely not in the same class. Also, the middle seat at the back of the Chevrolet SPARK is a cup holder, so since we had 5 people, one had to make do. For a long trip, this would be unbearable.
The initial booking was great and everything went fairly smoothly. The only downside was having to wait to collect the car. It was an hour and more. The place was busy. After collection everything was fine.
