I'm not entirely happy about the $500 on my credit card. There was a hold put on the card for $5000, so why the additional charge of $500 that will be 'reversed' in the next few weeks. A few weeks?? No doubt that $500 went into an investment account somewhere to make Zoom some extra money, which again - doesn't make me happy. I'm not a bank.
The pickup and the car itself were fine. It would have been good to have information about nearby gas stations where we could have filled up before dropping off the car, because we couldn't find any close by when we were returning the car, and didn't have time to go looking around. Also, it would have been good to know that we could drop off the keys with the front desk of the hotel since we arrived early in the morning before Zoom staff was on duty.

The company promised to pick us up in 15 minutes, but it took more like 25. Then they're about 15 minutes from the airport. The car was not particularly clean. At drop-off, we waited about half an hour before anybody could talk with us. Meanwhile, I noticed they were renting cars to the next customers without even cleaning them!

Hidden daily insurance fee of 8.99 despite having a separate car insurance from my credit card. Zoom is located over 10km from the airport - location misleading and very inconvenient. After our drop off we were refused a shuttle back to the airport as it was too late, we needed to pay additional 20$ for transport back to yyz. Overall with all the additional cost and inconvenience I will never use zoom again and will spread the word amongst my friends and family
Office staff were unhelpful, difficult and unfriendly.
Before pick up minibus collected us from airport and allowed 15 passengers in a 12 seater minibus. 16 people in total crammed into a minibus. Driver continually answered calls on his mobile whilst driving us to the office. The collection point for the minibus is awkward also and the office to collect car is around 20 min drive.

Zoom has a policy which is not detailed when making the reservation that there is a 2 hour window on the "pickup" time. We were delayed getting there (and definitely called them initially within the 2 hour window) and yet they put a "no show" on our reservation with no phone call or notification of any kind, despite the fact that I had pre-paid! When we got there, they had no cars available of the type I reserved, and we had to do a weird swap 2 days later to get what we had paid for originally. This is totally unacceptable and horrible customer service.
We returned the car a day early and just because I prepaid the rental, they wouldn’t refund the day. They even wanted to charge us to take us to our hotel which was closer than the airport was. We finally convinced them to take us considering we were being charged for returning the car early. Also the light came on in the car while driving. Nearest gas station was 100km away. They, also, gave us a dirty Mazda...quite inferior to the Honda CRV.
