The company provides airport pickup services. We contacted them upon arrival, and they came quickly. We got the car in fifteen minutes, which was quite convenient.
Renting from Fara company went smoothly, and the Chinese representative explained everything in detail. However, although we agreed that returning the car late would not incur a fee, they charged us an extra day's rent for being two hours late.

1. When contacting by phone at the airport, the customer service, although in Chinese, was very rude.
2. The rental location is a 10-minute drive from the airport in a small, inconspicuous house, with no noticeable store sign, giving a sense of insecurity.
3. The lady who attended to us was the same rude customer service representative. She immediately tried to sell us full insurance and demanded a deposit equivalent to around 23,000 RMB if we didn't buy it. This was the highest deposit we've ever encountered in our multiple car rentals. Fearing random deductions from the deposit, we reluctantly bought full insurance.
4. The lady was very unprofessional, threatening that we could opt out and be driven back to the airport. She knew it would be almost impossible for us to find another 9-seater car on short notice, so her behavior was simply to make things difficult for us.
5. I strongly recommend using a reputable car rental company. You can find reviews of Fara on Google Maps by searching for this company. It’s clear that this company is full of traps. However, this experience made us extra cautious, so when we returned the car, despite their thorough inspection, they couldn’t find any faults!
Fara are a great car hire company. Someone answered the phone straight away. We were picked up in about 10-15 mins. The car was immaculate and the counter staff were very friendly.

The car pickup experience was very poor. We were assisted by a Chinese staff member who made us wait at the airport for a long time. When handling the paperwork, they tried to upsell storm insurance and gravel insurance, which I declined. They did not accompany us to inspect the car comprehensively; they just handed us the keys and let us go. The car return experience was better and quite efficient.

It is said that FARA is the largest car rental company in the area. We chose it due to limited car options and pricing factors. When picking up the car, a Chinese staff member specifically mentioned the issue of insurance and suggested adding more coverage. However, since we had already purchased the super full coverage at the time of booking, we did not agree. The staff did remind us to check for any damage to the windshield and windows upon pickup. However, since we had to rush to our accommodation at Kirkjufell that night and previous car rental experiences had been smooth, we only took photos of the car's exterior. When returning the car, a different staff member, a foreigner, pretended to look around and then pointed out a small crack on the right side of the front windshield. I am sure no stone chips hit the windshield during our use, so I believe the damage was already there. Unfortunately, due to our oversight during pickup, we didn't have evidence. If the company intends to exploit consumers with damaged cars, it’s hard to avoid. Due to our flight schedule, we had to pay ISK 150,000 in advance for insurance claims. This experience reminded me that for future international car rentals, it’s better to choose a reputable global company.
