The store is easy to find, just a few steps from the train station. The procedures for picking up and returning the car are very simple, and the whole process is smooth.
The staff took a lunch break, so I ended up waiting at the train station for over an hour. The return location in Nice is hard to find if you go by the address on the website - it’s actually in the parking lot on the right-hand side of the station. The return process was quick, but I was charged a fee for returning the car to a different location. Even though I was informed at pickup, the fee seemed unclear and a bit unreasonable.
The pickup location is unreliable, and my rental contract had major loopholes. The drop-off location was closed on the day of return, causing significant losses.
1. The return location address was incorrect. We drove around for over an hour and had to ask for directions several times before finding it. The staff was very unhelpful, and we nearly missed our flight. This is unacceptable!
2. We rented two cars in total, picking them up in France and returning them in Switzerland. The rental company didn't purchase the required green sticker for entering Switzerland for one of the cars and didn't inform us. As a result, we had to spend 40 euros at the border. When we explained this to the staff upon return, they said it wasn't their responsibility. This is really frustrating.
3. When we arrived at the pickup location, they informed us that there were no Mercedes vans available (which we had booked for over 3000 yuan/day for two vehicles). They only had Renault 5-seaters, and we had to pay an additional 40 euros per day. There were 12 of us; how could we all fit in? After nearly 5 hours of delay, we finally sorted it out. It was exhausting!
1. I reserved a Mercedes Classe B, but I was given a Citroën Picasso at pickup. The staff said it was an upgrade, though I'm not very familiar with it. That said, the car was in great condition, spacious, and fully automatic settings took some time to get used to. Ultimately, it was fuel-efficient (being a diesel car), had good handling, and plenty of power. The built-in navigation system was very helpful, and we were quite satisfied.
2. The only nerve-wracking part was returning the car at Nice station. The parking lot path extended up to the top floor, involving a narrow spiraling road across 7 levels. It could have been easy to scratch the car, but fortunately, everything was fine in the end.
Very good. When I first got the car, I was unfamiliar with it, and the staff patiently explained everything. Although there was a scratch later, it was quick to return the car because I had full insurance. However, they charged me 40 euros on my credit card beside all the fees, not sure what it was for.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
