Returning the car at Marrakech train station was impossible to find via GPS. The staff couldn't clearly explain its location and told me to wait, but after an hour, there was still no response. Thankfully, a local driver helping with our desert tour assisted us. We had to go around for over ten kilometers through narrow alleys before finding a return point.
Coming from so far away to Morocco just to waste half a day returning a car affected our desert trip as well!
Absolutely not recommended.
When I arrived at the rental company, there was no order information, and they didn't reserve a car. Fortunately, the staff helped me find a similar model.
You need to call in advance to confirm their working hours; no one was there to handle returns before 9:30 AM. We had booked the rental for 10 AM, but waited almost an hour for the rental agent to show up — the inconvenience of no service counter.
Couldn't reach them on the phone when picking up the car, had to ask the airport staff for help. I booked an automatic but was initially given a manual. I told them I couldn't drive a manual, so they made me wait for more than half an hour. When I got the car, it had no fuel, and they just told me there was a gas station 2 kilometers from the airport. The car was a bit dirty! On the second day, a wrench icon lit up on the dashboard. We had no idea what it meant and couldn't reach them by phone, so we had to ask locals for help. Luckily, it was just a maintenance reminder. On the third day, the engine started making noise. For safety, I wanted them to check if there was a branch in the city to help. They said they were too busy and suggested I return to the airport. Again, I had to ask locals for help. But these weren't the real issues! When we were returning the car, I told them at the hotel that we'd be at the airport in an hour and not to delay us as we had a flight to catch. They agreed, but after countless calls, you can imagine the frustration! In the end, we were on the plane and had to borrow a phone from a fellow passenger to call and ask if they were at the parking lot. They said they'd be there in 40 minutes… How did we handle it? We gave the airport police officer a tip of 100 RMB to return the car for us.
The airport rental office was closed and there was no one to provide guidance. After much effort and over two hours, we finally found the rental company staff at the parking lot with the help of other local rental companies.
Terrible rental company: 1. The car we picked up was not the model we reserved, and they told us it was the only car left and we couldn't change it. Later, a policeman helped us, and the rental company staff said that the next day we could swap our car for the reserved model in Rabat for free. Trusting this, we took the wrong car. The next day at 10 AM, the staff confirmed on the phone, but an hour later they asked us to call another number and then stopped answering. We had to call the company's main number, and they told us to drive back to Casablanca to change the car. Are you kidding? We arrived back in Casablanca at 2 PM and only managed to sort everything out and leave with the car at 4 PM. On the highway 120 km from Tangier, the warning and engine lights came on. It was 9 PM, and four women were stuck on the highway – imagine that! The so-called 24-hour customer service did not answer our calls! Is this a scam company? Zuzuche customer service asked us to go to Tangier to change the car, but when we got there we found out there was no longer a Tangier branch. We had to continue driving the faulty car.
2. We called three hours in advance to return the car, but four hours later the company personnel still hadn't arrived at the airport, almost causing us to miss our flight!

About diRENT:2.0/10
The car rental company lacked the necessary credentials. They should not accept bookings if they cannot provide the specified vehicle. Complete payment was taken, but the car provided was not as agreed, and they were hours late. This was the most unreliable car rental I've ever dealt with.
Average service, but they were very persistent in selling insurance. Although we had already purchased QEEQ’s super insurance, they made us doubt if the coverage was sufficient.
