Previously, including right after arriving in Australia, I rented a car from Europcar. They usually have European cars, and the quality is quite good. I never had any issues before, so I only checked the car body before renting and overlooked the rims. When returning the car, they claimed there were scratches on the rims that I caused. It was obvious that the marks were old damage, as even the tires had no scratches. Trusting them turned out to be a trap. The same thing happened again. The rental checklist only showed four damages, but upon inspection, I found damages on the rims and glass.
The car wasn't fully fueled when I picked it up, but I returned it with a full tank. They didn't reimburse me for the fuel difference, which is a matter of integrity.
On the second day of the rental, the tire had an issue and the car couldn't be driven. Called over thirty times and no solution was provided. Ended up having to stay overnight in a nearby town. The next morning, made over ten more calls and ultimately had to drive the problematic car to a nearby repair shop to get an old tire replaced, then drove over a hundred kilometers to Melbourne to get a new one. Wasted an entire day, and I had three kids and my wife with me! Terrible service!
Like: The staff at pick up is friendly but staff at drop off is not friendly. Dislike: I was told that cash is accepted at drop off counter, but then when I wanted to make cash payment over drop off counter, the staff told me only credit card is accepted.
