The car was an older model, makes noise when turning vehicle. Strange foul odor from the interior of the car when it gets wet. Took a long long time to pick up the vehicle at YVR, had to wait almost one hour for them to clean and prepare the vehicle for us. It was a Nissan KICKS hatchback.
According to confirmation from Avis, pick up was Vancouver South Terminal Airport YV2
When we arrived there was no representative from any Rental car company, totally deserted. The Avis helpline was totally useless they couldn't help at all. So finally we were told from a airline representative to go Terminal 1 and try to get the car there. No shuttle bus from Terminal 2 to Terminal 1 available, we had to get a taxi and paid CAD 20. The counter personal at Avis was not really apologetic when we explained our situation. After she got a car for she presented a bill which was 90 CAD more than on our confirmation. After a long discussion she finally asked her Supervisor and he solved the problem. The car was not what we reserved (Ford Explorer) but it was OK. Not happy with Avis at all.
The car was not what I ordered - I got a Toyota CH-R which cannot in any way be described as a "medium" SUV. This why I have given the condition criteria a low score.
Picked up the car at Vancouver Airport and returned it at Calgary Airport. The signage at both locations was very clear, making it easy to find the pickup and drop-off points. The return process was particularly efficient, with fuel gauge checks, vehicle inspections, and printouts of the return slip all done seamlessly. However, the pickup process was quite slow. Since we were doing a one-way rental, we had to wait for a car with an Alberta license plate (likely because it's cost-effective for the rental company to charge a one-way fee while returning an Alberta car to Calgary). We waited over an hour after completing the paperwork to get the car (the staff kept saying it would be just another five minutes). We had originally booked a vehicle for up to 7 people, but there was an 8-seater available at the site. However, we didn't upgrade because our luggage just barely fit.

The service attitude was average, but they didn't aggressively sell insurance. The staff member we met during the return was quite friendly. He checked the exterior of the car, looked at the fuel gauge, turned off the engine, and said OK. We also took photos of the dashboard, and that concluded our car rental journey.
The waiting time was quite long, the longest I've experienced in any city or country I've visited. The service attitude was good, but the initial car they provided was quite old, so I requested a replacement. Waiting for the car took a long time, and they were understaffed.
I booked a car for 2 weeks during Christmas and New Year time. The pick up was easy and rapid. The staff at the counter answered all questions friendly and frankly. At first I didn't got the car I had booked. I booked Dodge Grand Caravan but they gave Kia Sorento which was so far acceptable. We travelled with many luggages and we found the rear seat couldn't be folded. One of the staffs walked by and tried to help but it still didn't work so he gave us another car, Grand Caravan GT, which was upgrade. The car was perfect. We all enjoyed the trip. The drop off was smooth and rapid, no paper works. Overall was great. Recommended.

This was my third time booking on the platform. There were adequate selection. The price drop was not so practical. Overall is satisfaction. Recommended.
