Very smooth process and excellent vehicle

The car did exceed our expectation. Picking up and dropping off was an absolute breeze. We hope to rent with budget again!

When I rented the car, I added a GPS, thinking it was integrated into the car. So I took the keys and went straight to the car, only to find out later that the GPS was a separate device rented at the counter. The employee at the rental counter didn't give me the GPS device even though I was charged for it, causing me to spend 30 minutes looking for it in the car. After asking nearby staff, I learned that the GPS is a separate device and needs to be collected at the counter. I had to run back to the rental counter where the embarrassed employee admitted they forgot to give it to me, wasting my time. It turned out the car had Apple CarPlay, which I connected to my phone, allowing me to use Baidu/Google Maps. This was much more reliable than the rented GPS, which I ended up not using at all, wasting the GPS rental fee.

An excelent car. No problems at all for the whole trip! Budget staff were lovely & quick at both pick-up and drop-off. Couldn't ask for a better experience. The car had excelent range on a full tank, giving me a small sense of security despite the bushfires nearby.

Very accommodating as we were early and got upgraded instead of having to wait. A bond was held on our card (and returned quickly at the end of car hire), but never mentioned to us, so I was surprised. It got clarified when returning the car though.

Easy to book, no hidden charges

In the end, they only gave me a Corolla for the specific model???? The price is indeed cheap but it's a bit unfair that those under 25 can't participate in promotional activities. I had to say I was 25 on the website, yet when I got to the store, they still asked me.

The service counter was right at the airport and was easy to find. It’s was no fuss organising to get the keys, and prepayment of a full tank of petrol for the car return was a great idea as it was much cheaper than getting it anywhere else.

It was quick and easy to book, and there were good discount vouchers as well. The service was fairly responsive especially when I had accidentally booked twice and had to cancel it.

Like: Sign board on the return vehicle is not clear when we entering the Sydney International Airport Terminal 1. I have missed the entry and drove up to departure hall.

Budget service at the airport is ok and I believe Hertz staff help out in the pick when the Budget staff were not available. The waiting time is about 45mins.
