CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON BUDGET IN EDINBURGH

I booked an automatic SUV for 10 AM. When I arrived on time, they gave me a small car without consulting me, which couldn't fit my three large suitcases. When I asked for an SUV, they told me they had no other automatic cars available and the only option was to wait for someone to return one. I ended up waiting until the afternoon, and even then, they were slow to check and clean the car. After several reminders, I finally got the car past 2 PM, meaning I waited over four hours. There was no apology at any point, making it a very unsatisfactory experience. Overall, it was a terrible experience.

the staff was amazing. I did not have to wait at all. the car was impecable and they were very helpful over the phone when I needed to extent an extra day. super recommended!

We got the exact car indicated and good value

The car exceeded my expectations. However, I was disappointed dropping off the car. The guy I handed the keys to and was waiting on to check the car, neglected to inform me it was intact until I approached him again, even though he clearly saw I was standing by that car when he finally came to collect it.

It's recommended to choose large car rental companies. Local small ones may have hidden issues despite lower prices, so be cautious if you don’t speak the language.

Expected Ford Focus, was offered something far smaller. Ended up paying double what we thought we were paying to get larger car which appeared to be old and pulling to one side. During our trip warning light came on regarding tyre pressure. Checked one of the front tyres was bald in patches and there was no spare tyre or repair kit. Headed back to hotel and did not use car for the rest of the day. Had to rely on relatives to ferry us to New Year Function. AA guy came next day & said was technically legal but he offered to follow us to Glasgow Airport for replacement. At least this one was a much nicer car but half way through the last week a warning light came on again about tyre pressure. Checked and all tyres seemed to be ok. Not a happy experience.

The online vehicle size was deceiving, had to upgrade to a larger vehicle for luggage accommodation.

The store is small but very clean, and the staff were very friendly. It is located on a small road, and I found it using GPS.

Booked a Mercedes E, but upon arrival was told they didn't have a CLA. After a lengthy discussion, they finally provided a Mercedes C. Additionally, the deposit paid during rental has not been refunded after more than a month.

They promote extra insurance quite aggressively. Make sure renters are warned clearly. The advice on the policy needs to be noticeable enough!
