Lies about vehicle available and charges required. Embarrassing excuse for an EV in 2024.
I reserved a Tesla and was offered a Hyundia and a Mercedes. Hyundai is not the same class of vehicle. The Mercedes software was in beta stages. Lane keep assist would bounce around the lane even leaving it, it was if a drunk driver was driving. Navigation system failed 80% of the time either couldnt' find the location like Leogo land for instance but could find Legoland Holiday Inn. 4 out of 5 charging locations it directed me to were behind locked gates. Charging port wouldn't open and required 20 minutes with another Merc owner to figure out. Regenerative braking would simply give up by design at 20Km/hr in other words stop breaking coming up to another car at about 3 car lengths away nearly causing an accident. Later if stopped at about 80km/hr. The car a is a disaster and would stop anyone from owning an EV if they didnt' know better. AVIS customer support was useless. They told me to drive back to the airport to talk to the front desk about changing my reservation. I asked why would i spend a 4 hour round trip driving instead of talking ot them on the phone to confirm they had a car available. This was not possible apparently as they are to busy for existing customer to pickup. I was obviously annoying the CR asking such questions. Upcharged for Tolls. I was told I would go through a ton of tolls on my trip at least 10-15 and that I should purchase the flat toll fee. I went through two. A roughly $20 charge was turned into $70. Upcharged for charging. Asked how much I thought I was going to spend charging the car up before drop off convinced I should spend $20 to charge it at drop off. The Merc comes with Free 30 minute charging more than enough to charge the car to full. Further lies.

Good experience till I realise the scam by Avis.
All was good till I realise Avis simply added almost triple the amount of we agreed price to my booking, 300 for one way fee which I had in original voucher with QEEQ and another 500 or so of unknown charges. Only extra I ordered was for toll pass. I think they even charged me gas which I ordered full to full and returned it full of course. Was fan of them before but this was a disaster!

Avis need be clear what a “ preferred customer “ is
Misleading pick up information. As I’d prepaid and given all pre booking information to Avis it states go to the desk marked pre booked give your card and license and pick up your keys not waiting. This not true. At the desk there’s a queue and they ask if anyone is a preferred customer, I said I was but they said not and get back in the queue which then took me about 25 mins

Awful. Having to wait for 3 hours for my car and the oil maintenace reminder always came on.
I had to wait for 3 hours to get a car. They had a long, long line up and by the time I got to the counter they were out of cars. They gave me a large Toyota 4runner instead of the Camri I had reserved. I doubt I will use Avlis again. They were totally incompetent.

Went to put the roof down and kept says roof not secure. But I had drove off before I put it down. After a few attempts I had a look in the back were the hood would go. There was 2 big bottles wedged in the frame. The car felt juddery and on the last day the engine management light came on. The car had lots of dints and scratches. When I pointed it out to staff. She said it's okay you're fully comp. Other than that very happy with the car. Very fast and good on fuel. Waited well over one hour due to the car at another location. The lady was by herself and someone cleaning the cars.

Poor car and nightmare drop off point
The car collection was terrible with very off hand designator who told us our car either this or that and no other choice. car had dents and scratches which he was off hand about Also the car had no oil and a warning light came on and I had to put 4 litres of oil in the engine.
