They had the car I requested but did not provide it until I repeatedly asked. The rental amount did not match the confirmed amount on QEEQ, and they couldn't explain the extra charges. Due to time constraints, we accepted it first. This needs to be handled by QEEQ.
This was the worst company. The attendant with an Indian accent told me the car I selected was not available and offered to switch it with a Japanese car, but ended up giving me a Kia, which left me speechless. After various troubles, either missing EZpass or no reverse sensors, I finally chose a fuel-consuming Ford.

About Hertz:4.0/10
From 2014 to 2016, I went on self-driving trips to the US three years in a row, experiencing three rental companies: Dollar, Alamo, and Hertz. In 2015 and 2016, I booked through zhuche.com, and I was quite satisfied with their service. This time, I rented from Hertz, which is known as a big company, but my experience was just average. First, the service attitude: It's a plus that they didn't try to upsell insurance, but the front desk service was just passable. They didn't demonstrate how to use the E-pass, and there was an additional $20+ equipment fee for the E-pass that wasn't mentioned beforehand. The rental contract has too much content and the font is too small to read in a short time. So, an average rating. Second, the vehicle provided: I originally booked a RAV4, but it wasn't available, so they gave me a Jeep Compass. The car's space was small, everything except the gear was manually adjusted, high fuel consumption, and low power. There was a strong and unpleasant perfume smell in the car. A poor rating. In terms of vehicle quality, Alamo is the best. I strongly recommend future renters to choose Alamo if the prices are similar.
After arriving at Hertz's Washington Airport location, the staff informed us that the rental car only had basic insurance, which only covers our own damages in case of an accident and did not include the million-dollar third-party liability insurance! I'm not sure if this is an issue with the rental car platform or Hertz. Then, the Hertz front desk started pushing various insurances and a fuel refilling service on me! In the end, it cost over 600 dollars, more than 100 dollars extra! When I declined these additional services, the staff member became visibly unhappy and impatient!
The store offers a free shuttle service to the airport. It was early morning when I arrived, so there were no other customers and no queue. The staff added several charges without prior notice. When I asked about these charges, the staff was very impatient and claimed it was delaying her time to leave work. She only agreed to wait for me to contact the car rental service after I insisted.

About Alamo:6.0/10
Picked up the car at Washington Dulles Airport. In general, it was quite convenient, but it's a bit different from other places. Here, the rental companies use their own branded vans to take customers to their specific locations. It's not a central rental point. Once you arrive, you handle the paperwork.
On the first day, I was attended by a Vietnamese man with a poor attitude. He said I hadn't purchased third-party liability insurance, but my booking on the rental platform clearly included it. He insisted on selling me the insurance, which made me suspicious of either him or the platform. I called the rental platform, and they said Dollar was lying to push their insurance and assured me that if an accident happened, Dollar would be responsible. Dollar, on the other hand, told me I could drive without insurance, but the rental platform would cover accidents. It was a frustrating experience with both parties passing the buck over a minor insurance issue. Dollar also promoted the e-pass because I was traveling from Washington to New York, and an e-pass was economical due to numerous and expensive tolls in the East. The first car available was a rundown Nissan with a nearly detached bumper. I didn't notice the condition during pickup but later realized and returned it for a replacement. Despite Dollar claiming it was fine, I insisted on a new car and got a Chrysler, which was much better. The Chrysler was great to drive, much better than the Japanese car.
There were no preferred vehicles at the lot, only group vehicles. I almost couldn't rent the car because Bank of China credit cards do not support $0 purchase test. Fortunately, the emergency support from the rental company suggested that I make a small purchase. I bought a tank of gas, and the payment test succeeded. Although the Korean clerk was not very friendly, he let me try three times. Huge thanks to the emergency support team.

About Alamo:8.0/10
Overall very good. However, there was some confusion when matching the car model. For those who are not familiar with the models, it is easy to end up with a lower-tier car than what was paid for.

About AVIS:6.0/10
The queues at Avis locations are usually very long, but this location had a relatively short wait time. I’ve rented cars many times, and extra sales pitches are common. This time, they only added a fee for an additional driver, which was acceptable.
