Car very badly damaged which made us very uneasy and fearful we would be charged for damaged we had not done . We had full insurance which amigo autos did not recognise and the very surly staff in the office tried to sell us more insurance

Waited three hours to get the car, Amigo handles by OK Rentals with ten counters but only two people serving.
They tried to sell us protection and were very forceful that we take it etc. When we didn't they became quite rude.
On arrival we were made to take out additional insurance at the cost of 60 euros this was because he said the insurance certificate was not valid and the insurance we had was a lie. He would not let us take the car without paying the additional insurance - this was totally unacceptable and I would recommend you not use this supplier in the future.
The worse experience ever! I rent a car through your company a few years ago in Portugal and didn’t have any problems. Ms Lorena at the desk in Mallorca airport gave me the worse customer service I have ever experience. On Friday 8th Feb I rented a car online. I was charged over £10. Terms and conditions said £800 of deposit was going to be blocked on my card. At the airport the woman said to me it’s £1500, when I asked her why there is nothing about it online and it’s not okay she didn’t have an answer. Then I said that I have my own annual insurance and she said you don’t accept it and I have to pay extra. I asked her if someone would go with me to the car to do the check in. She said: „no, you have to go by yourself and if there is any damage this is your problem”. Unacceptable!! I told her: „I’m sorry but I don’t like your attitude” and she replied „And I don’t like your attitude”. I decided to rent a car from AVIS where I got a great deal and I experienced an amazing customer service. I’m a travel blogger and I’ll mention that situation in my upcoming vlog for sure. I’m so disappointed especially that I always recommended interent. Never again.

Temps d'attente énorme pour récupérer le véhicule (plus de 2H). Malgré le faite de payer 18€ pour un enregistrement rapide. Et là je ne compte pas le temps perdu du voyage en bus pour ce rendre à l'agence de location

Booking / pickup process atrocious - two hour wait, rude staff & aggressive in tone.
Vehicle scratched and dented, with no parcel shelf.
Drop off quick and easy, though.
The vehicle was heavily damaged on collection which was reported to Gold Car, after 10-15 minutes of waiting they said they knew and was fine to take, this was not an impression I wanted to drive around with a heavily dented, scratched car, on return I was 30 minutes late dropping the car off due to finding the location, I was charged 52 euros, not happy after my experience.
Unfortunately the counter clerk was very new to job and didn't seem like he knew what he was doing having to constantly refer to other staff for advise. He was very pleasant and apologetic but after an early start we could have done without the long booking in process.
I was given the information that they “cannot” accept the third party insurance which it was surprising me because since I rented cars worldwide I never got this policy before. Actually I know they tried to sell me the insurance. When I insisted not to buy further insurance, they told me then they cannot let me rent the car. WTF!!! And it made me pay for 150 EURO more. Insane!
I would not book with Goldcar again. They tried to sell extras on a hard way with telling lies. Take total care on what you sign. Don't trust on what they tell you at the counter! Check everything double. Check the car carefully, even the door lock by key!

Waited ages to be served. Once serves we have a very rude lady. Wanted to charge me airport location tax dispute taxes being included in the chargw.. says it's not included as cheap rate and says in terms on goldcar website. Lady then said I had to pay fuel surcharge of €135 which is refundable if return full. That was fine. Then she said I had to take out there personal insurance. Explained I had insurance excess which she said wasn't going to cover their rental which was utterly rubbish. After 30mins had passed, she reluctantly took the €1400 blocked swipe of my car and we was on our way. Very very rude and told me not to shout at her which I honestly wasn't doing. She was mis-selling which not give me all options. I assume they are on commission. Kept saying that a 5p dent or a scratch would cost €700. I'm a careful driver having driver loads of hire cars before and never had so much bother getting a car. It was almost 11pm at this point. Once it was sorted, the car we got was nice and did the job. It was cheap for a reason .. there is no customer service. Be warned there might be hidden charges so also check goldcar website. There rating is also low and branded as robbers. It's true. Will never use again.

The overall experience was positive except when I arrive at the Goldcar counter was pushed to buy another insurance which I did not buy. And the staff said that my insurance isn't good enough so she wanted me to buy another insurance on top of the one that I already have. After me kept saying no to another insurance she blocked my credit card ( which the norm).
Also I had to pay €20 of airport fees which I didn't understand why because when I booked online I paid premium to have all taxes included.
The staff at the counter was rude and lied to me. She said that the credit card deposit would take a month to return to my bank account but I asked another staff on the drop off and they told me in less than 2 weeks.
With Goldcar never again.
