I followed the instructions on my rental papers after I arrived at Toronto Airport and called Green Motion for a shuttle pick-up at the airport. No one answered the phone so I left a message on their voice mail with my name, request for pick up and my telephone number.
Green Motion never showed up. After 30 minutes and an hour I called again and not only did they not pick up the phone, the mailbox was full so I could not leave a message. I waited another 30 minutes and then assumed they were not coming since no one had called or arrived at the pick up location. I decided to Uber to their location and when I arrived a sign on the door said "I'll be back in 20 minutes. You can call at 905-564-2425. Sorry for the inconvenience."
I called the number on the door and got the same FULL mailbox. There was no ability to leave a message or transfer to another person. I waited another hour and no one ever showed up to their offices. I ended up calling a nearby Enterprise Rent A Car location and they picked me up right away and got me in a car quickly. It is my opinion that Green Motion Sucks and is the worst rental experience I have had in 30 years of renting cars. I had to cancel two business appointments because of their poor business practices. I do not recommend them at all.

Navigation was also more expensive than indicated initially. In the end, everything was resolved perfectly though, when we showed the booking information that indicated the insurance. We even got navigation for free and a car upgrade. Aside from this initial hiccup, we had a great experience and would use green motion again.
The price is indeed a bit cheaper, and the car is in good condition. However, it was difficult to get a hold of someone by phone at the airport for pickup and drop-off. I had to take a taxi to get there.
I went there myself. The branch is very small and hard to find. They require a 1500 CAD deposit, not a pre-authorization. If you accidentally get on the highway or receive a ticket, they charge a 50 CAD administrative fee each time. The most critical issue was that the RAV4 I booked was unavailable, and they gave me a very old and shabby Altima. It made a loud noise at the back, as if the tires were not properly installed. They promised to replace it in two days, which disrupted my plans. However, when I went back two days later, they said the RAV4 still wasn't available. My wife got angry and said the car was too bad, only then did they give us a Camry. They said we could replace it on the third day. To avoid the same issue, I called ahead, and they finally had the car. The worst part of the story happened after I extended my rental and returned the car. They said the deposit would be automatically refunded after a month, but more than a month passed, and after several calls - the first time they said the finance department wasn't available, the second time they said it was noted in the system and would be processed, the third time a cleaner answered and said they would leave a note, and the fourth time they said their UK account was frozen and they didn't know when it would be resolved, so they couldn't refund my money. I can't believe such a terrible company exists in Canada.
Excellent customer service. Pick up location is a bit tricky to find, but overall it was perfect. Great car, brand new child seat, very satisfied by green motion. Will recommend for sure. If you dont mind a location a bit far from the airport.
