I needed assistance from the customer service desk at Brisbane airport, as the quoted phone no. for Carhood was not replying. After help, everything went very well - the car was larger than expected but was an automatic and not the expected manual. But fantastic value!
Every aspect of our Carhood experience was excellent, from pick up at the airport, through vehicle collection, driving the vehicle over a 17 day period, and then vehicle return. The staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. I'd have no hesitation in using Carhood again and would thoroughly recommend them.
The car was dangerous, brakes where metal on metal and made horrible noises every time I braked. The suspension was also an issue very bouncy and there something not right.
Obviously safety checks are not taken seriously by this company as when I questioned this the staff replied with we only check the engine.
The staff also made awkward jokes when we collected the car that was unnecessary and uncomfortable about same sex couples.
Was nothing like the picture. Was an old corolla. With broken air con and a cockroach staring at us through the air vent. We were double charged insurance so what looked like an awesome deal was in fact the age old adage of you get what you pay for.
“Phone contact was easy and pleasurable to deal with. Overall Good.”

Good experience with Carhood.

The little Getz I hired did the job well and with no real problems whatsoever.
I haven’t received my deposit bac yet so that is yet to be seen, but have no bad thoughts about my deposit being returned.
Their staffs quite nice and the price was really good as well. I had using their online booking that was so easy.
But only one thing not so good was for pick up and drop off.
Had my bond held due to 'missing eTag' that wasn't actually missing just needed to look further (or have it mounted properly). There was a lack of communication in regards to this issue. Initially i was told it was lost but not provided with any evidence evn though they claimed that there was a photo showing the eTag prior to me collecting. After it was located i wasn't informed that the issue had been resolved althoygh i did get notification that the bond had been returned. The communication could have been better, it's not pleasant being accused of taking an eTag and having the bond held so comminucation is important.
I was unaware that Carhood was a careshare company. I would like to have known this. Although it was cheap, our car was old, worn on the inside and did not have features expected. (They rent cars up to 15 years old.) I worried that the car might break down at any time. Also, would have preferred unlimited mileage even though we did not go over the limit.
The staff and manager at carhood were fantastic. We were late for our flight, the shuttle to the airport was full but the manager himself drove us to the airport in another car.
