The car I got from this rental company is really old compared to others. The power is poor and the car isn't very clean.

Generally fast

Compared to my last car rental experience in New Zealand, this time wasn't as good. First, the vehicle handover took a lot of time, especially when returning the car at Christchurch Airport. Previously, it was a matter of just dropping off the key, but this time I had to wait half an hour for someone to attend to me. The service was very inefficient. Thankfully, I had enough time to catch my flight. Second, the staff's attitude towards Chinese customers, especially those with limited English, was quite poor. They seemed not very willing to help. I requested a newer car, but was given one with nearly 120,000 km on it, and the gearbox was very stiff. The car struggled a lot when going uphill with four people. I don't think I'll choose this company again.

The rental company suggested I rent snow chains, but I'm confident they should know that it's not necessary for the road to Milford Sound. I needed to return the car by 8:00 AM. I arrived at 7:45 AM, and when someone arrived at the office around 7:50 AM, they told me they weren't open yet and that I had to wait until 8:00 AM. I just wanted to sit inside until they opened because it was quite cold outside.

The car was fabulous. The gps we paid extra for was terrible but they refunded it with no questions on drop off.

Overall fine

Like: Queenstown was great. Our Air BnB wa absolutely fantastic with amazing views. Hire car was exactly the right size and easy to drive.
Dislike: Car didn’t have much power

Like: Friendly staff and convenient location
Dislike: The car wasn't ready at the time I booked it from. It was probably an hour late in total.

Like: We were given a free upgrade. Very friendly staff with excellent communication skills.
Dislike: We were happy with everything.

Easy to find, though there were many returns, the efficiency was high

Like: MAINLY EVERTHING. EXCEPT OTHER NZ DRIVERS ARE ALWAYS IN A HURRY
