Car rental in the city has specific office hours; going early is not useful. However, there aren't many people, so you basically don't have to wait in line. The staff there are also quite nice.
The car was easy to drive. Before the trip, I consulted customer service and was told that an electronic pickup slip was sufficient. However, I was not informed that the QEEQ and Europcar rent payment confirmation would also be needed when returning the car. I had to contact multiple customer service agents and repeat the issue many times before it was resolved. Fortunately, the Europcar staff were very patient and helpful. By the way, the car had a patch of bird droppings on one side when I picked it up as it was parked outside.
All the car rental companies are in one building next to the airport. You handle the paperwork on the first floor and then go to the second floor for the cars. The whole process was quite fast, and the staff were very professional.
But! I booked a Mercedes! A Mercedes! And they gave me a Citroen!! Besides going to Prague, I was going to Germany! I specifically booked a German car! And you give me a French car!! Also, the entire parking lot is 80% full of German cars, mainly Mercedes! But they gave me a Citroen!
Unhappy, I went back to the counter to negotiate again, but the staff said that the cars had been pre-arranged and couldn't be changed now!
This isn't the first time this has happened!
Last October, I went to Morocco and booked a Jeep Wrangler, but they gave me an Audi sedan!!! I wanted an off-road vehicle for the desert! And you give me a sedan! What does that mean? I specifically chose an off-road vehicle! Specifically chose the Jeep Wrangler! You didn't give me a Jeep Wrangler! Didn't even give me an off-road vehicle! Do you think car renters are people with no requirements, and any car will do?
A car is a very important part of the journey! Can you not be so arbitrary?
Yes, you'll say the terms state that they may substitute a similar-class car, I understand! That's why I didn't complain last year. But now it's the same situation again! I feel like choosing a car model while booking is meaningless! Because you never know what they'll give you when you get there!!! And at that moment, you just have to take what you can get!

About Europcar:8.0/10
Picking up the car was very convenient. After exiting the airport and crossing the street, you reach the parking building. The website shows their service hours. Our flight arrived at around 6 AM, so we waited in the hall for a bit. We were their first customers when the counter opened.
“The car rental company's address changed two years ago, but QEEQ's offline map still directed us to”
About Europcar:6.0/10
The car rental company's address changed two years ago, but ZuzuChe's offline map still directed us to the old address. We couldn't find the rental point at all and had to ask many people on the street, including police officers, but no one knew. Eventually, a local told us it had moved to a nearby street. We wasted an hour on this!
Returning the car in Vienna must be done at Vienna airport, which is unreasonable as we wanted to explore the city. Thankfully, a local advised us to call the rental company and arrange to return the car at an underground parking lot in the city center, saving us a trip to the airport!
The store clearly explained the service details during pickup and specifically reminded us about the need to buy tickets for crossing national borders. Very satisfied with the service.

About Europcar:10.0/10
Absolutely reliable rental company, with offices all over Europe. The Prague office is well located, just a few steps from the bus stop. They upgraded my car to an Opel with less than 2000 kilometers, which was a higher class than what I had originally booked. Returning the car in Vienna was a bit tricky. Firstly, there was some damage, and it was a Sunday with no staff available, so I had to leave the documents in a drop box, not knowing how it will be handled. Secondly, the return location was in an underground parking lot that was a bit difficult to find.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
