Great overall experience

The service was extremely slow, and staff had tantrums and went on strike. From the time I arrived until I got the car, it took almost 3 hours. I arrived at 10:40 and only got the car after 1 PM. They even showed me clauses stating that if I was late by more than 2 hours, my booking would be canceled. There was no car available that matched my reservation, forcing me to upgrade. I will never rent from DOLLAR again; the service is terrible.

At the New York airport branch, a plus-sized African American staff member served us with an indifferent attitude and slow actions. Despite arriving on time to pick up the car, she told us it would take another two to three hours for it to be ready. As we were in a hurry, we asked for any available similar car. Only then did she provide a Toyota. This wouldn't have been a big issue, but she mentioned they were changing the policy from full-to-full fuel to full-to-empty. In our rush, we agreed, but the fuel tank was only at 90%. When we returned the car, we were charged over $90 for the fuel and taxes. It's unfair to expect a car to be returned with an empty tank.

Early in the morning, there were over ten people waiting to pick up cars, but only one person was handling the process, which was very inefficient. The staff was friendly, though, and tried to upsell additional insurance, which we declined.

When I rented the car, it was supposed to be a large SUV. I expected to have a suburban or XL Yukon as shown in the pictures. But when I got to the counter, the clerk told me that the car is not any of the two or an equivalent one. she told if I want one them I have to pay an extra $1,600. I had to accept what was offered to me but I was so frustrated because the storage area after seating 7 people will be extremely small. Also after like 20 days from renting the car a message popped out in the dashboard says that the car needs maintenance.

Booking was easy and fast. I have no complaints

They have been good and will continue to use them.
