CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON THRIFTY AT CHICAGO O`HARE AIRPORT, ORD

The service attitude was rigid. They gave me a Middle SUV instead of a Standard SUV and claimed they were the same. Do they really think Chinese people don't know cars? I definitely won't choose Thrifty next time!

Got off the plane, took a bus directly to the rental location, the process was very quick

Unfriendly attitude, constantly pushing insurance. The worst part is, I booked a Ford Focus or similar, but they gave me a much smaller Ford Fiesta and insisted it was the same category. It's way smaller! Never using Thrifty again.

On the first day, the service attitude was terrible and wasted 3 hours of our time. They initially said an international driving permit was required and that a Chinese driving license was not acceptable. After consulting with the manager and checking the documents, they said it could be done but that personal third-party insurance was required, and the insurance documents needed to be provided! It was an unreasonable demand! Fortunately, we had a temporary green card, which allowed us to proceed. In all my years of renting cars, this was the first time encountering such an unreasonable demand! It took from 11:00 PM until 2:30 AM the next day to complete the process!

There was an issue when returning the car, and it was not resolved.

At the car pick-up, they briefly asked about the chosen model but did not specifically mention that it was not the one I selected. Having just gotten off the plane and queued for a long time to clear customs, I was too exhausted to deal with it. During the car return, I had some questions about unclear charges, and the staff very patiently explained them to me.

Unhappy with mandatory insurance, paid an extra $400 unexpectedly

The waiting time was too long, and they forcefully sold insurance. Very bad experience. Remember, I won't use this company next time.

Choosing the model and price on the app is crucial. I didn't realize they were not the same rental company. When returning the car and renting another one, I was informed it was a different company. I had to walk a long distance from one rental company to another. When returning and renting a car at the same time, the app should have a notification feature!
