CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON HERTZ IN MARSEILLE

Thankfully Hertz stayed open past midnight at MRS and I was able to pick up my vehicle !

Very long queue at the counter. Had to wait nearly an hour to pick the car up. However, the process itself was very smooth, the car was exactly as described, pretty much brand new and very clean.

Very satisfied, the service was good and efficient.

The attitude was quite good, and there were no unreasonable charges. They pre-charged for a full tank of fuel, and the price was cheaper than refueling it yourself. However, you need to plan well and return the car with an empty tank to make it worthwhile. I received a Ford Galaxy, which is wider than the Smax I booked, and it was an automatic. I used a notarized translation of my driver's license to pick up the car. I met a compatriot at the adjacent rental counter who couldn't pick up his car because he didn't have a notarized translation. He mentioned that he had never needed one in his previous trips to Europe, so he didn't bring it this time. To be safe, it's better to bring a notarized translation.

Very good, very fast

The car listing showed Standard Crossover, Peugeot 3008 or similar. But the actual car was a Toyota CHR which is much smaller both in terms of seating capacity and luggage. And the navigation system was faulty.

This was our first time using this rental company, and it exceeded expectations. They anticipated many things in advance for the renters, and every call connection was promptly answered, making us feel very confident.

I booked for a Peugeot 2008 but it was not available. I was given a car of the same class, Fiat 500x, but with a trunk way smaller. The car was really thing for my luggages.

I didn't realize that Thrifty is a budget rental brand under Hertz. The Marseille train station rental area had signs for many rental companies, but none for Thrifty. After searching for a while, I found it under the Hertz name. The staff in charge of the rentals provided excellent service and gave us an amazing car—a 5-seater with a sunroof, GPS navigation, and a very spacious trunk. I seriously wondered if they gave us the wrong car.

Both pick-up and drop-off were very smooth. It took 5 minutes to pick up the car and just 5 seconds to return it, the fastest experience I've ever had.
