The wait was too long. It was the first time I encountered a situation where the computer could find the order but the car couldn't be collected. It took several calls with customer service in the middle of the night from my home country, and the entire process took 3 hours. The use of the e-toll was not explained, and it was not mentioned in the contract.
Waiting over 40 Minutes for car to be available as they didn't have any of the type we booked in the lot and didn't want to upgrade etc. it was tiring.
More worryingly they have posted an additional charge to my credit card with no explanation. It just labeled as no packaged item charge and it's added $24.17 to my card. I have tried to find no it what it's for but no clue. We declined any and everything they offered and relied on the fact we'd pre booked and paid for everything with QEEQ. Have asked for QEEQ to try and fine out what the charges are for. Fingers crossed some one will explain or arrange for refund if they are not right.
The car had an engine warning mid-trip, and it took half a day to find a store that could provide a replacement. Many stores couldn't offer replacement services or home services.
I had lost days on my trip, had to cover additional hotel costs.

On your booking the amount given i was charged a little more, this could have been due to exchange rate at the time.
Was quoted around R26000 and billed R28000 when collected the vehicle was charged an additional R10000.
As I said before I ran into a lot of problems with my cars:
- first car looked reasonable but discovered later that rubber of windshield whiper was loose (not practical since it rained a lot). Furthermore car notification that car needed a engine oil now. Had to swap car
- second car less comfortable and after one day received a notification of engine malfunction. Had to swap cars again. However, closest Budget location was >60 miles away. Very inconvenient and time consuming
- third car was fairly new and quite good. Budget representative tried to give me a Dodge Charger first which is not a SUV at all. Eventually after waiting I was offered a good car. At the end of my trip this car also gave a notification that engine oil change was due.
In the middle of the trip, a warning light came on that required an engine oil change - something that forced us to go into the Baguette branch on the way, apart from that the trip was good and comfortable

Avis could have been more flexible if the car that we chose is not available, better if they can give us a refund on the difference, but in my case, they won't even entertain us.
Hertz's service was excellent, and the car was very new, with only 6000 miles on it. The staff explained the terms in detail, were humorous, and even helped us bundle the most cost-effective 2-day unlimited Toll Road package based on our travel plans. Returning the car was quick, and the $200 deposit was refunded instantly.
Wait at the pickup is unbearably long.. was expecting a much smoother pickup since all information was provided months ago and reservation was made with full prepay long ago

I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience with Budget Car Rental at JFK Airport. Despite booking a car through QEEQ and paying in advance, I encountered several issues. The staff were unhelpful and rude, and I was informed that no cars were available upon arrival. After finally getting a vehicle, I was later hit with an unauthorized charge of USD 1202.39 on my credit card, despite being assured by customer service that there would be no extra fees for dropping off the car at a different location.
I’ve tried to resolve this directly with your customer support, but I have yet to receive the refund that was promised. As a visitor from London, this entire experience has been incredibly stressful, and I’m now worried about additional charges on my credit card due to this error. This kind of service is unacceptable, and I would not recommend Budget to anyone based on my experience.
