Same formula, same attitude, even the same tricks! Clearly told them I didn't need insurance, but the printed receipt still included insurance fees. They take advantage of your lack of English skills and make you sign. Rented for just one day and was charged $39 for services and insurance! Avoid this garbage company at all costs! It's better to choose a Chinese company that offers pick-up and drop-off services. These companies have too many tricks!
Counter staff were rude, after selecting a car loading all our gear and driving up to the checkout Booth I was told the car was on a safety recall and had to go back and pick another car which was worse than the car I originally selected. By the time I got back in line there was nine or 10 cars ahead of me and I was not pleased. Terrible customer service
“Rental never occurred because of impossible communication with ACE!”
About ACE:2.0/10
I was unable to obtain communication with anybody on my arrival into Houston Bush on May 7th, and ended up renting from Advantage. Your phone system messaging was awful, un-intuitive; did I understand ACE offices close at 3:00pm??!!
“Not the car we rented and Thrifty tried to charge us more than quoted by EasyRentCars.”
About Thrifty:8.7/10
We went to the Thrifty car rental counter in Houston and they tried to charge us a lot more money than we were quoted on EasyRentCars.com. I asked why it was so much more and the lady said because of the easy pass, I told her I did not ask for the easy pass nor do I want it. She took out the easy pass and the price was still higher, she then proceeded to tell me it was due to taxes, I said no, all taxes were included in my quote and her next reason was because I was returning it to a different location from my pick up location, again, I told her no, that was all calculated in my original quote. Since she ran out of excuses she decided to credit me the difference.
We then proceeded to pick up our car and was told that they did not have any full size cars left, all they had was full size trucks. So we had no choice and drove off with a full size gas guzzling truck.
At the end of our vacation we dropped off the truck at the San Antonio airport and had no issues there.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
I was very satisfied with EasyRentCars.com. The website was very user friendly, they gave very useful advice and the automatic price drop re-book feature was very nice, we saved an extra $20 with this feature.
“no hassles, Great counter service and no pushy insurance selling!!!”
About Dollar:10.0/10
The fellow who waited on us was pragmatic, friendly a seasoned rental agent and gave 11 star service and offered candy as well. INCREDULOUS. I BOOKED FOR PRICE AND GOT EXECUTIVE SERVICE LOVE YOU
I am happy to select this company because I found what I wanted: to reserve a car and pay at pick up. Other companies asked me to pay in advance. I surely will continue using EasyRentCars.
“Great. Just one thing. Don’t show me a picture of a convertible and get my hopes up. Didn’t happen.”
About Hertz:9.7/10
We had an initial problem in convincing them that we should be reimbursed for having to buy a new tire when we had a flat the first day, but they came through in the end and reimbursed us a month later.

Easy rental experience. Really liked being able to book car insurances in advance when renting.
“Watch out for additional fees sneaked in By Thrifty”
About Thrifty:6.3/10
The car was fine, but The thrifty staff was grossly incompetent and unprofessional. First, they stack on additional property tax onto your bill and say that its standard procedure. This should be disclosed at the time of the booking online, not on the 11th hour when you are checking out the vehicle.
Secondly, the counter staff gave me the car keys, turned of the counter lights and fled home (without even inspecting the vehicle). I was stranded at the parking garage for 2 hours because the exit gates were blocked and there was no one from Thrifty to check me out . It was not until 3 am that someone from Hertz gate called for help to let me out. To add insult to injury, when I went back to Thrifty in Dallas to get compensated for their negligence, the counter manager says, we will take off the property tax and that's all she can do because, I may have just been hanging out at the garage for 2 hrs at pickup to create a story. I mentioned that I have videos and pictures as proof of facts on their incompetence and will make sure to warn others of this episode
Picking up the car was a pain. First, there was an issue with Dollar processing my credit card. Calls to my credit card company showed that there was no problem. I had to bail on the reservation desk and go to the Dollar Kiosk, which was able to process my credit card with no problem. The kiosk attempted to print my documents (contract, etc), but only blank pages emerged. I was told to proceed to the garage and just take "any car in area B". This process took at least 45 minutes.
I went out to pick up my car from the garage. The Dollar representative said I was not supposed to take any car from area B, as I had been instructed by the Dollar representative. She sent me back to the counter, where I had to wait in line for the 3rd time to sort it all out. The representative at the counter printed out my contract and wrote the letter "B" on the front. I went back to the garage with this new document in-hand and was told to take any car from area B....
I found the process to be slow and frustrating. I pre-booked online, yet came across lots of confusion and delays when it came to pick-up. The Dollar employees were patient and accommodating, but the systems they were navigating to get me a car were obviously slowing them down.
Took over an hour to get vehicle due to lack of employees to clean vehicles for pickup. Although staff tried to the best they could, it was very frustrating to have to wait more than hour in a hot, humid garage with no where to sit after traveling for almost 21 hours.
The rental process was convenient. Returning the car was simple; just hand the keys to the personnel. The whole process was easy and straightforward, and the invoice was automatically sent to my email. The charges were clear.
