The confirmation email stated unlimited miles, at the desk I was told there is limit on the distance I can drive before they start charging for each extra km.
The staff's attitude is excellent and they never force you to buy additional insurance, which increases my trust in this company. I don't consider other companies anymore when renting a car. My car once had a malfunction alert, and to prevent any accidents, they gave me a replacement car for free and even upgraded me to a better model. I have now become a loyal fan of this company. Yes, I am happy to recommend their cars to any friends, it's definitely a wise choice.
The insurance terms from the rental company were not clearly stated in the contract; I had to ask for them myself. The car pickup was self-service, with no one inspecting the vehicle or explaining how to use it. I had to figure everything out on my own during the trip.
Following the car rental company’s pickup instructions made it very easy to find, just a 2-minute walk from the train station exit and then down an escalator. Upon arrival, the staff suggested I buy a 'better' insurance policy which would significantly reduce the car deposit. Just refuse if you’re not interested and they won't insist. They also suggested towing insurance, saying it would cost 150 euros per tow without it. I said I didn’t mind and had sufficient funds, after which they politely dropped the matter. There’s a daily mileage limit of 300 km, and they listed where there were scratches on the car body in the contract, but they didn't walk me around the car to check these spots until after I'd signed the contract. So, I recommend that when reviewing the car's condition at the start of the contract, you should call an employee to check the car alongside you. Make sure to photograph any existing damages as soon as you get the car, so you can show these to the staff upon return to speed up the return process. The thoughtful staff also wrote down the name of the parking lot to use for return on Google Maps. Overall, the service was decent, and any additional charges they suggested were transparent and clearly explained, including the differences from the insurance I had purchased. Just evaluate it for yourself. (By the way, parking in Barcelona is quite expensive. If you're only exploring the city, consider renting a scooter instead, which costs around 45 euros per day and eliminates parking hassles.)
The Barcelona airport branch was not great, and they didn't provide me with a paper copy of the rental agreement. The return process at the Madrid airport branch had friendly service, but the wait time for authorization from superiors was very long. They did provide a paper contract and receipt.
