I rented a Highlander. However, after picking up the car, I found that both the front and rear cigarette lighters were not working, so I couldn't use the GPS. I had to return to Hertz and they said they were out of Highlanders and offered me a car called Captiva instead. After driving for about twelve or thirteen days, I went to the Hertz office in Dunedin to switch back to a Highlander because my car needed maintenance. Again, they told me there were no Highlanders available but said they could lower my rental price because the car I was driving was a lower-tier model than the Highlander. Well, they only mentioned this now. At the end of my trip, when I returned the car in the local office at around 5:00 PM and specifically requested an adjustment in the rental price, the staff said the manager had already left and I would have to wait until the next day for a response. But I was flying out that night. I waited for two or three more days without any reply, so I emailed Hertz's customer service. After several days, they responded, saying they could only reduce the price by 100 NZD including tax, even though the price difference on their website for the same season was 285 NZD. After many email exchanges, they finally said there's no further adjustment that could be made. This is Hertz's service for you. I thought choosing Hertz would mean better service, but clearly not. The staff at the pickup location was dishonest.

As expected from a large company, both picking up and returning the car were very convenient. The car was also very new.

The pickup location is at the airport exit, which is very convenient. The process is simple, and the car is in good condition, having only driven about 40,000 kilometers. Returning the car is straightforward: just park it in the parking lot and hand the keys to the front desk. Providing customers with the roadside assistance number from the rental company would be even more convenient.

Hertz is a big company with excellent service. Pickup and return are almost instant.

Earlier reviews mentioned that Hertz cars had mileage under 20,000 kilometers, but our car had over 40,000 kilometers. Overall, the pick-up and return procedures were quick and straightforward. No other significant issues.

Brand new car, absolutely brand new!!!

The reservation pickup time was 3:30 PM. I arrived at the counter at 3:00 PM and was told to wait until the exact time to process the rental. Returning at 3:20 PM, they finally began the paperwork but insisted I buy insurance, claiming my booking did not include it. After repeatedly stating my reservation included full insurance, they eventually acknowledged this but still delayed the process, claiming there were no cars available and I had to wait another 20 minutes. Finally, at 3:45 PM, they agreed to give me a car, but refused to adjust the pickup time to 3:45 PM. Consequently, my return time was also impacted, shortening it by nearly half an hour. The staff assured me it wouldn’t matter if I returned the car a few minutes late, but the overall experience was extremely unpleasant! HERTZ has the highest prices among rental companies, and I chose them for their brand reputation, only to be met with poor service. The RAV4 I received wasn’t a new model and had over 60,000 km on it, with average condition.

The difference in car models is too significant.

The lady at the rental counter said they only had Pajero and not Prado, and she tried to upsell me full insurance. When I refused, she insisted they only had Pajero. After I agreed, she suddenly mentioned they also had Prado. The service was quite lacking.

1. The car provided was far different from the one I booked; 2. The translated document from Zuzuche was not accepted, and I had to wait more than an hour to get a new translation service, which cost me 600 yuan!!!

QEEQ's prices are cheaper than many well-known travel websites, and their service is very professional

I booked a Camry, but they gave me a RAV. The car model often changes. Both times I rented, I didn't get the model I reserved.
