You can walk to the counter of Europcar - Zurich Kloten Airport car rental.

You will pick up your rental car at the Europcar counter. If you arrive at terminal 1 or 2, follow the signs "Mietwagen/ Rental Car". The counter is located in the rental car center, parking garage 3 (P3), 1st level. The center is attainable with the elevator or the escalator. Attention: Please schedule a walking time of about 15 minutes from the terminal to the car rentals agencies.

Please follow the 'Car Rental Return' sign and park the car in Europcar parking spot and walk back to airport.

I was offered an upgrade to a GLC 250 at 50% discount and was asked to pay some difference amount which was fine by me as the price was attractive. The staff was very informative. And I feel the only downside was waiting time was slightly longer but that's expected at most airports and having the counter in terminal is a luxury when compared to most places with shuttle service and its hassles with luggage.

I liked Europe car they were good in the counter and drop off was also hassle free and totally free of mind. After this booking I tried with Thrifty Milan rent a car and they gave me very bad time, rude , unprofessional ,waited too long and didn’t get the car and cancelled my booking saying my credit card is a debit card in their system, WTF! which I had already used everywhere in Swiss.. That’s really when I understood quality of Europe car. I would try to Stick to Europe car but sometimes they aren’t affordable.

Big companies are really good. The paperwork is done at the airport, and the car is picked up next door. The rental and return process is simple and quick. Since we had an 11-day rental period and a lot of luggage, they offered a free upgrade to a bigger car. The car was very new, with just over 20,000 kilometers. The staff were kind and enthusiastic.

The Zurich airport rental office is not far from the arrival hall, and you can walk there without needing a shuttle. There were not many people in line, and while the staff was not particularly enthusiastic, they were polite enough. I got the car quickly. However, the return location at Geneva airport lacks clear signage. Initially, I couldn't find the return spot and had to circle around and ask someone for directions. If you miss the only small sign, you might end up driving into France! Of course, this is not the fault of the rental office, and the return process was quick.

The best part is, we were supposed to return the car at 11 AM since we picked it up at 11 AM, but because it was a Saturday and the tax refund office opened at 10 AM, we knew we couldn't return the car on time. We were still driving from Austria to Switzerland! Then we called the return service and informed them we'd be late, asking how much extra it would cost. He asked how late we'd be, and we said around 1 PM. He said 'No problem, it's OK, no extra charge.' Wow! When we arrived, we couldn’t find a gas station on the way to return with a full tank. The front desk staff was very friendly and told us there was a self-service station across the street and an attended one around the corner if we needed help. He even mentioned that gas is expensive here and it wouldn’t be cost-effective for us. Exceptional service! We filled up the tank, returned the car in a minute, everything went smoothly. Highly recommended!

The charged amount at pickup was higher than the order amount, allegedly a deposit, but it wasn't refunded for a long time. When returning the car in the evening, there were no staff available for discussion. The only positive was the convenience of returning the car.

The car rental office said we couldn't use credit cards with magnetic strips, only those with chips were allowed, but they never informed us of this requirement. Therefore, they rejected my husband's card with a magnetic strip. When I used my chip card to secure the rental for my husband, they insisted on charging over 300 dollars to make me a co-renter. Otherwise, we couldn't pick up the car. This credit card policy is too unreasonable; I've never encountered such a situation in the U.S., and we wouldn't need to spend this extra 300 dollars.
