CAR RENTAL REVIEWS ON THRIFTY AT AUCKLAND AIRPORT, AKL

They said there would be an airport facility fee when picking up the car. It took us until midnight to sort it out with the rental company.

The staff verified everything according to the order and did not push for additional insurance.

The Zuzuche app and public account showed that the pickup was at the international terminal, but when we arrived at the counter, we were told that the pickup was at the domestic terminal, and we couldn't complete the paperwork first. We had to run back and forth, and it took us almost 2 hours to get the car. The instructions from Zuzuche were unclear and unprofessional.

Excellent vehicle, we needed all the space in the SUV for all our luggage. The staff were friendly and very helpful.

Queue was manageable, but the service was mediocre.

Tracy, the staff at Auckland airport counter, had a very bad attitude. The rental agreement stated that the car rental fee included the airport facility fee, but at pickup, the staff rudely claimed she couldn't read Chinese on the reservation and insisted on charging NZD $51.97 for the airport facility fee. Multiple explanations were still not accepted, and even emailing the rental company didn't help.

Anythings fine. They still provided the bigger car to us, more convenience to our trip because our luggages more than our expeceted. Just the counter staff's simply to explain the instruction, not really clear.

overall was nice.

The only thing that is annoying is the rude front desk staff of thrifty. Being a frontline of a company, he should be courteous and accomodating.

It was okay. There was a staff member who spoke Chinese at the counter.

1. They did not recognize the NZTA certified translation. They insisted on a different format from the QEEQ platform, which was just an A4 paper, even though the content was the same. In the end, they only glanced at it and handed it back to me. The service is far worse compared to AVIS and HERTZ. 2. On the day of rental, the Auckland domestic terminal was staffed by a lady who appeared to be of Indian descent. She greeted Westerners enthusiastically but was indifferent towards Chinese customers. 3. The Thrify website clearly states that they accept NZTA certified translations, so why was the Thrifty Auckland domestic rental point so difficult? 4. Despite the difficulties during pickup, the return process was relatively smooth.

It would be better to briefly introduce the car operation during pickup and check the car condition together

The fuel charge was too expensive

There are Chinese-speaking staff, but they said the full insurance we purchased is not accepted.

The counter was easy to find, there were no lines for picking up the car, and they didn't try to upsell me on additional insurance.

Communication was terrible. The interactions with the rental platform were shocking, and a relatively simple issue wasted over 3 hours of my time, leaving me very disappointed. Although the staff were very polite and genuinely tried to help, their competency was truly questionable.

Charged an additional 52.96 NZD as airport fee.

Quick service, new cars.

Great experience from start to finish. Car was not as clean as a whistle though, we found a juice bottle (half filled), beer cap and a corn chip inside the car, other than that the whole experience was great.

Prices were good, and the booking experience was amazing.
