You can walk to the counter of Alamo - Frankfurt Airport car rental.

Upon arrival at Terminal 1, follow signs to the Car Rental Centre. For arrivals into Terminal 2, exit arrivals and we are located directly outside arrivals on the right-hand side.

Drop-off Instructions

Like: Got a free upgrade, which is always nice. But had to wait a long time behind just 1 other customer to get service. Car was in excellent condition. Had a great trip in Germany with the car. The price was a steal, even for the basic SUV I had originally requested.
Dislike: No answer at all when calling their office to extend! They absolutely don't pick up the phone. In the end, I had to go to the airport again on the day I was supposed to return the car, to extend my reservation. During drop off, no receipt/information about billing was given.

We weren't told where to drop off the car so assumed it was where we had picked it up from. However when we got there we were told we should have seen a big sign telling us where to drop it off but we hadn't seen it. It also wasn't very clear as to what fuel the car took, there was no indication on the fuel cap and it wasn't obvious on the paperwork.

The young guy at the rental store was very enthusiastic, but even though we had already purchased full insurance, he still sold us another full insurance package. During the process of picking up the car in the garage, we felt the payment amount was incorrect and raised the issue with the staff there. After carefully reviewing our order, they immediately agreed to refund the amount when we returned the car. Shortly after returning the car to a different location, we received the refund. Alamo and Enterprise share the same location, but in Frankfurt, their office is separate from other rental companies, which took some time to find. The front desk service was good, fast, and convenient; the process was simple. However, the staff tried to sell me damage insurance for damages under 1000 euros twice, despite me telling them I had already purchased insurance through another platform. They insisted they were not aware of it and made me sign a waiver. They offered me a Kia instead of the reserved car. After multiple discussions, they said it was the only model available and since I had to drive over 200 kilometers at night to another city, I had no choice. The car was new with only about 200 kilometers on the odometer.

I was upsold full insurance multiple times during pickup, even after informing them I already bought it domestically. It was irritating and I couldn't drive at ease throughout the trip.
Otherwise, everything was great, convenient, and fast. I originally booked a manual wagon and paid an extra 10 euros to upgrade to an automatic Jaguar. It was a new car, and cars abroad get updated quite quickly.

When picking up the car, many things were not communicated clearly, and there were issues contacting the rental company. We picked up the car at Frankfurt Airport and were told we had to pay even though we had already paid in full in our home country. The representative said they couldn't find the payment on the system. After calling the rental company and sending some pictures, the issue was resolved. They mentioned a fee of five euros per day for additional drivers and a cross-border fee, which was acceptable. However, when returning the car, they said the payment was incomplete. Besides the additional driver and cross-border fees, there was a 21% tax, totaling 389 euros. After contacting the rental company again, we finally paid 329 euros. This process was quite unreliable, even if the rental price was relatively cheap. Can't the rental company standardize their operational procedures?

The staff wrote the rental agreement very poorly and we couldn't make out the details. When returning the car, we were informed that we had been charged for the full insurance. They told us to call their service phone number to resolve the issue, as such matters are not handled on site. Since we were in a hurry to catch a flight, we had no choice but to accept. Very unsatisfied, will not rent from this company again. Will prefer to rent from bigger companies like Hertz, even if it costs more.

The rental company's staff had low English proficiency. It is unclear whether they deliberately deceived or if it was an honest mistake. We clearly stated that we only wanted to add GPS and no other extra insurance, but ended up being overcharged by nearly 200 euros. On the day of the rental, we repeatedly confirmed with the staff that the total cost was around 260 euros, but my credit card was charged over 470 euros. I believe the business practices of this rental company are very problematic. I advise others planning to visit Germany not to rent a car from this company.

The rental company charged an extra 250 euros without proper explanation. After contacting customer service, they canceled over 100 euros but still charged an extra 100 euros. It has been over ten days, and I still don’t know the reason for the extra charge. They provided a Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross, which may or may not be in the same category as I booked, but it handled poorly. It felt unstable at high speeds, had very high fuel consumption (11-12 L/100km on the highway), and had significant wind noise. The fuel gauge was also faulty; it showed full after an hour and a half of driving, but then dropped quickly, barely lasting an hour on half a tank. Twice, I almost didn't make it to a gas station on mountain roads.

The transaction was handled at another company's counter, and the explanation was unclear. The additional driver fee quoted was very different from the final charge. They originally said it was 5 euros per day, capped at 50 euros, and including tax it should have been around 60 euros. However, after agreeing, they charged my card 130 euros! Including the remaining balance for the car rental, it totaled over 160 euros! This is a typical case of fraudulent charges.
