Small company, only saw one employee from start to finish. The attitude was good, but the service... The car provided was very old. The front desk only had one person working, so we couldn't exchange the car or cancel. This company is also far from the airport, and returning with luggage to find another rental company would take a lot of time. We thought it wasn't worth it, so we just accepted the old car.

Due to a flight delay, I arrived late at night and couldn't pick up the car that day. The next morning, I called the rental company, and the owner personally drove to my hotel to take me to the office for the paperwork and car pick-up. The owner also drove me back to the hotel when I returned the car. Quite an experience! (It's a small company with limited staff.) Haha.
The store is quite far from the airport, and the shuttle bus to the airport only runs 5 times a day, which is not very convenient. Abell is a small company; one afternoon in Queenstown, the car wouldn't start, and I called the rental company for half an hour with no response. I had to ask the police for help eventually. Later, I finally got in touch with the rental company, and they said there was no branch in Queenstown, so no replacement car was available. However, there's a nice Chinese guy at their Christchurch branch.
The second driver fee was 30 NZD for 9 days, which felt reasonable. I've heard some companies charge per day. Snow chains were 80 NZD for the 9-day period.
The car was quite old and had no air conditioning, which was unbearably hot at noon. Other than that, everything was fine. They provided shuttle service between the accommodation and the rental company, making it very convenient after picking up and dropping off the car. The staff were very friendly and introduced us to a full insurance product for NZD 23 per day with a minimum deductible of NZD 200, which was cost-effective! This rental company is not at the airport, so the rental prices are cheaper.
Although they didn't receive the order from QEEQ, their attitude was excellent. When I couldn't find the pick-up location and called for help, the staff came out to find me. I must say, top-notch service.
“I would never use Easycar rentals again. They are a sham and deceitful.”

The car was not roadworthy. It had 140,000 km on the clock - and was a piece of junk. I thought that I was hiring a new or near-to-new car but instead got something that was close to a coffin on wheels.
The car rental company has Chinese-speaking staff who can provide detailed information about local road conditions and explain the car's features. They also give tips on how to operate and drive the vehicle.
In addition to credit and debit cards, you can now pay for online car rentals with cryptocurrency! Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Bitcoin Cash (BCH) are accepted. Curious about how long a Bitcoin transaction takes or how to pay with Bitcoin? Read our FAQs for more details.
