their service was fantastic and did their best to assist me resolve the issue with getting the right size vehicle at an extra cost.
About QEEQ:8.0/10
I was not provided with an Outlander as originally promised. Europcar pointed out that the vehicle classification in the booking is "Small SUV" and booking and gave me a Mitsubishi ASX. I therefore had to pay an additional NZD$480 to get the Outlander. This is the first time I have had an issue with a Qeeq booking
I went to so much trouble to ensure I book a Ford Mustang (which is celebrating its 60 year anniversary in 2024) as a surprise for my wife who happened to turn 60 on the 29th September 2024.
Needless to say it was impossible to find another Ford Mustang an hour before I was to book out of our hotel so we trundled along in a RAV 4 which I would not drive if you paid me back in Australia. As you can imagine it was an absolute mood spoiler on what should have been a HUGE surprise.
I understand that cars get damaged (which is what I was told) but to then offer an entry level RAV 4 as replacement is a slap in the face – I would have thought that the least your company could have done was to offer us a complimentary upgrade – what I would have expected of your company was to advise me upfront that the vehicle was not available, when it became evident – but I guess that is too much to expect given the volumes of customers you deal with.
The queue at Europcar was very long. In fact, it was the only hire car company with a queue. There was only one person working the counter so, it took almost an hour and we were third in the queue. The staff were friendly but, there was no urgency at all. To be fair to the staff, upon return, I left my mobile in the car. When I went back to retrieve it, they had it at the front desk. This was a big positive. In addition, I believe this is the first time I received the exact car that I was told I would get. This is also positive.
“Europcar experience was very good. QEEQ experience was terrible. I will not use them again.”
About Europcar:10.0/10
The Europcar Interational terminal was understaffed causing a queue of customers who had to wait for a hour.
We were sent to the Domestic terminal Europcar branch because QEEQ had booked the wrong terminal.
The domestic terminal staff were very helpful, even staying after closing time to ensure we were served.
They kindly gave us an upgrade because of all the trouble we had gone through being at the wrong terminal
Your office open hours is until 2AM. In some cases it's crucial! If you supposed to be open till 2AM, you have to be open until 2AM without any exceptions.
About QEEQ:10.0/10
Following the public information about Europcar open/close hours, they should be open until 2AM. We came to counter an 1:20AM and they told that we are very lucky because the office is going to be closed at 1:30AM. Didn't get the reason.. Some kind of renovation in the area and they close the area earlier. This mean that we had a good chance to spend the night at the airport in the case we spent a little bit more time at New Zealand biosecurity.
Switched to a Ford Mustang Mach-E, and the condition was average.
We had a half-day layover in Orlando and decided to explore the city. A taxi from the airport to downtown costs $100, so we decided to rent a car. With four people and lots of luggage, we booked a Mitsubishi Outlander. However, upon pickup, we were informed it was unavailable and were given a Ford Mustang Mach-E instead, with an additional $20 fee. This shouldn't have been charged to the customer, as it was the rental company's fault. The car was smaller, and we had to place some luggage in the front seat, which was quite frustrating. I didn't argue since it was just for half a day. (Switching to a Kia Carnival would have cost an additional $20)
NEVER AGAIN EUROPCAR!
They are saying we returned the car damaged. But we didn't. Anyway, they charged us more than 2000NZD 3 weeks later!!!!
Calling them didn't get me anywhere as they only had the information "it's damaged". Sorry. The department responsible for this is not available.
