The staff was very polite, but the car was not ready when we arrived. We had to wait 20 minutes because it wasn't cleaned yet. There was only one staff member handling the paperwork, which was quite slow, but I guess that's typical for New Zealand.
“From Queenstown in the South Island to Auckland in the North Island”
About Shouqizuche:2.0/10
They deducted fees arbitrarily without sending an electronic invoice in advance. This happened one week to a month after the car was returned. The rental company did not inform about all the deductions beforehand, and it took nearly two months for them to refund this unexplained amount.
This company is ridiculous. Due to weather issues, I couldn't return the car on the same island and was extorted for an extra four days’ fee without a refund. The rental company and their Chinese customer service were of no help.
Shouqi operates under Europcar, and the service is excellent. There aren't many people, and it's very convenient to swap cars at the South and North Island terminals. Both cars were brand new (Christchurch pickup at 15km, Wellington swap at 3,000km).
Couldn't find the car rental company after leaving the airport. After searching and making several calls, I found out they were collaborating with another company. There was no prior notice or signage, which made for a poor experience.
Highly recommend Europcar at Auckland Airport. They provided two very new cars, one had over 1000 kilometers and the other over 5000 kilometers. Both cars were in excellent condition.
The service was excellent. Although there were upsells, it's their job, you can just decline. The vehicle was relatively new, equipped with everything except for a sunroof. It had high specs including a heads-up display, which was essential during our trip to the South Island. This high-end Kia SUV model is not available in the domestic market.
I booked a pickup truck but was given a small Suzuki, and it was a manual transmission! I've never driven a manual before. Their attitude was terrible, they didn't care if I rented or not, and they refused to refund the price difference. I already moved my luggage, so I had no choice but to put up with it. This isn't the first time they've switched cars on me, it happened in Christchurch too. What's the point of booking in advance if they charge me for a big car and give me a small one? It's just a waste of money.
