Europcar handled the rental. The booking was for a 10:00 AM pickup, but we arrived early to save travel time. The staff accommodated us right away at 9:15 AM without delay. They were professional, explained all necessary details thoroughly, and had already purchased and installed the highway toll sticker. At the time, there were about three customers and two staff members present. The process was orderly and efficient.
From a consumer's perspective, firstly, the actual service provider is Europcar and has nothing to do with Shouqi. During the rental period, I was rear-ended. I have photos and the other driver’s license contact information, which clearly shows I am not responsible. I contacted Zuzuche, and while their communication was straightforward with at least some follow-up, Europcar’s customer service was mostly AI email auto-replies. After returning the car, I still received emails from the claims department, making me feel that the earlier discussions were wasted and I had to go through the same process all over again, communicating the same things multiple times. It was very time-consuming.
I was satisfied with the service. When I arrived, only the MG of the same class was available. After some consideration, I decided to pay extra for the Q5.
Average. The underground parking garage was poorly lit during pickup, making it difficult to inspect the vehicle's exterior and interior for any damage. Despite us having already purchased full insurance, they insisted on aggressively promoting their own insurance. When returning the car, the parking location and the drop-off lock location were far apart and hard to find. We even specifically asked the male staff member at the counter if he wanted to inspect the returned vehicle. He said no and didn't check the documents related to the car we received. The next day, they sent photos of the car after washing, claiming there were two areas of damage. We felt like we were unjustly blamed for damages.
The pickup location is right in the airport arrival hall and very noticeable. You need to bring your local driver's license; a translation document alone is not sufficient. Electronic licenses are accepted. The actual car provided was an upgrade with more space.
