GOLDCAR reject to my credit card and proposed to rent a car only by paying full insurance which I have already from AXA by Easyrentcars.com. Previously I had rent a car in London and in Amsterdam by GOLDCAR and hadn't such problems. Also, there were some issues with fuel indication and service needed but hopefully it was not affected vehicle usage.

Lorsque je restitué la voiture le 30 avril à l'aéroport de Palerme, l'agent de GOLDCAR m'a imputé une très fine rayure non pas sur la carrosserie mais au niveau de l’enjoliveur arrière droit. Il faut dire que j'avais inspecté la carrosserie du véhicule lors de la prise en charge mais sans penser à inspecter les jantes aussi, d'autant plus que la voiture n'était pas propre et qu'à 21h00 il faisait noir... Je n'ai vu cette rayure que lorsque l'agent de GOLDCAR me l'a montrée après un examen ultra minutieux du véhicule, justifié par le fait que, malgré leur insistance pour que je prenne leur assurance à la prise en charge, j'avais refusé, parce que très chère par rapport au prix de la location et déjà couvert par mon règlement via carte AMEX Gold. Moral, GOLDCAR m'a imputé un montant de 60 € pour la réparation de cette rayure. Je suis pratiquement certain de ne pas être responsable de cette mini rayure et qu'elle était vraisemblablement pré-existante. A noter que les 4 enjoliveurs en question sont proposés à l'achat, neufs, autour de 40€! Ce n'est pas la première fois que cela m'arrive avec Goldcar de Palermo aéroport et je souhaite alerter les futurs clients.

Despite confirming multiple times before the trip that an employee would meet us at the airport, there was no one when we arrived at night. When we called, they said they were about to close and didn't take responsibility for handing over or inspecting the car. We had to find the car ourselves in the external parking lot. When returning the car at 10 AM, no one was there either, and we had to wait outside for someone to help with checking in the vehicle.

The Goldcar checkin staff have ruined my Italy holiday. The female employee who handled my rental lied to me. I was double charged the insurance hold I agreed to, despite repeated denials and despite me showing proof from my credit card account. As a consequence my credit card exceeded its credit limit and I was unable to pay for my pre-booked hotel accommodation. I had to sleep in the rental car and the airport for the first two nights until the first block was reversed on my credit card. I will be making a formal complaint when I return home.

The member of staff I dealt with was rude and pushy. She tried to sell me an additional insurance when I had already purchased a similar one through the Easyrentcars website. She implied that the insurance I had purchased was unlikely to pay out, in case of an accident. Only at the end she explained that what she was offering was optional. Moreover nobody came out to check the car with me and I was left to find the car by myself. They were instead very thorough in checking the car on my return. I won't use this car rental company again

“Charged an excessive amount for a scratch that likely existed prior to rental”

There was one scratch on the front bumper of the car that was not very visible unless you looked very closely underneath. I did not have any collision (that I know of) during my rental, but Goldcar decided to charge me ~250 Euro anyway. There is no way that this scratch would cost this much to repair; I have experience in collision repair and it was a touch up job.

C’est envoyé vos clients dans la gueule du loup. Ils vous effraient, vous force littéramelement à prendre leurs assurances, et si vous ne vOulez pas vous mettent encore d’avantage de pression. N’imprime pas la bonne feuille de locatin. Ne vous rende pas vos papiers d’identité. Des tas d’erreurs car trop concentré à vous vendre leurs assurances. HONTEUX

The car was not fit for the road which we found out half way through the journey to our accommodation- the brakes needed attention. The tracking was out - the car is not being maintained to an acceptable standard. On drop off they tried to charge me for a scratch to the window that they had not seen on pick up - luckily I had clear pictures to show the scratch on pick up. Terrible stressful experience

I have rented cars multiple times, however, it has always been through Avis/Hertz/EuropCar. This has been the first time I rented Gold Car and experience was a breeze. Collected the car in 15 minutes flat from Florence Airport. Car Drop-Off process took no more than 10 Minutes - Francesco at Gold Car Drop Off was really helpful and quick. The car condition was excellent and as good as new. Just awaiting refund of the deposit/authorisation. Once that comes through, will leave a detailed review. Have been advised that the refund takes about 2 weeks time.

They are scam artists. Stuck me with a diesel car which wasn't on my rental agreement, then charged me an extra tax ("pollution tax") when my agreement said all taxes and surcharges were included. We discovered about 45 mins. after we left the rental facility that we only got 1/2 a tank of fuel. Called the company immediately who told us to email them the photograph of our fuel gage. Never received a response. We had only driven about 80km (about 50 miles) when we noticed. I drove further than that on the return and it only took about 2 gallons and cost about 10Euros for fuel. When I returned the car with exactly the amount of fuel I got, they argued with me, blamed it on me and then charged me for fuel and a fine. They pushed it off to customer service when it was their own people who told us to email THEM. I will be disputing this with my credit card company.
