I read the reviews, but did not experience any of the negative comments. There was no pressure to buy anything extra, but we did bring a letter from our own car insurance saying our coverage was good for their car as long as it was valued at $100,000 or less, which wasn't a problem. The cost was so much less than anywhere else, I was sure there would be an issue, but there were no problems. I will definitely use them again and would recommend this Orlando location to friends and family.

It was pouring rain, and we were expected to inspect the vehicle using an iPad in an uncovered lot. Additionally, they didn't have enough iPads for all customers so we had to wait. When I finally got an iPad, the vehicle keys they gave me didn't work with any van on the lot - they were a spare set of keys to a van already rented to someone else. NU found me another van but didn't update the rental policy with the new van information until I pointed it out to them. Pick up was a real mess and there were other customers who rented children's car seats but they were broken and not functional.

Lamentable! Contraté un mistery car para ver como me podían sorprender como cliente y descubrí que es solo una manera de engañar a los clientes y hacerlos pagar más. En el mostrador te dicen que solo son electricos y te hacen pagar mas por uno a gasolina y además de tamaño mas grande. It was quite a horrible experience. I prepaid in full, but when I picked up the car, they told me that all the available cars in my selected category were electric. They mentioned that I would need to download an app to operate these cars, implying it would be very troublesome. I asked them to switch me to a gasoline car, and they only told me it would cost $140. The key point is, they didn't inform me it would be an additional charge. I didn't realize I was being misled until I saw the bill. Then, I had to ask the staff to cancel the vehicle upgrade. Moreover, I clearly told the staff that I had my own insurance and did not need to buy the rental company's insurance. However, they kept pushing it on me. After I explicitly refused, a $130 insurance fee inexplicably appeared on my rental agreement! I had to go back to the counter again to cancel it. Originally, the rental cost was supposed to be around $1000, but with these two hidden charges, I ended up spending an additional 2000 RMB. It's a total rip-off. If a customer isn’t fluent in English, they could easily be scammed.

Was not told I would need copy of my auto insurance declaration page in advance—I had only copied my proof of insurance card . They tried to charge me an extra $22/day for collision insurance that I had. Was able to get hold of my insurance magenta who told them I had collision coverage. But this took a lot of time. 1st vehicle had a malfunction error on dashboard. Waiting over 30 minutes to be served. Charged for gas that I shouldnt have been. Small business car rental. They were nice enough to pick up from airport and when returning to drop off at hotel. They text a couple days before or use whatsapp to communicate. The had the car seats as hoped. The car had the engine service light on but they noted it and said it was ok to drive still, I was just worried about that. The car was great other than that. The online booking was easy. The shuttle from airport to car rental place was a very long wait! We saw many other shuttle companies multiple times before ours showed up- which was disappointing- the driver was super nice tho. When we got there the people at the desk wanted our insurance policy for 3rd party rentals- which I got the email saying that BUT what they didn’t say was for how much! We had $100,000 covered but you wanted (and only provided this info on a sign when we walked into the car rental place) you wanted $300,000 and I believe not many people have that much coverage for a car rental b/c what car are you renting that cost $300,000! Therefore for us not to be stuck at the car rental we had to pay MORE money! Which was not in our budget!

The car matched my expectations. The shuttle bus to and from the airport would have been pleasant if the air conditioning on the shuttle had been adequate. Instead it was a very hot and unpleasant 30 minute ride to and from the rent a car in the middle of hot summer days. A/C on the shuttle bus was on but not cooling.

FOX Rent A Car made me wait one-hour and fifteen minutes because my vehicle was not available. They made me wait in the lobby and only when I approached them they made me wait longer until they completed the booking they were handling or I would have waited even longer. I do understand that for the price we paid that we could not expect the perfect car, but we received a car where the inside padding above the driver's side of the car door kept falling out. I called ACO from the Airport just after 12:00pm to send a shuttle car. My pick up time for the car was 12:00pm. By the time the shuttle picked me up and brought me to the location it was almost 2pm. They then hit me with a bunch of hidden costs and my total cost went from less than $100, as was expected, to $350 in the end. They said that since I wasn't there at 12:00pm to pick up the car, they couldn't hold it for me and they had to upgrade me to another car which cost $90 more. I called them just after 12:00pm to come pick me up and this still happened.

The car i was provided at pick up was not the same as what I booked online. The car turned out to be dirty and alignment was very wobbly during the first three days of drive. I took the hassle to drive back to Orlando airport to swap the car because I felt very unsafe. Then advantage rent a car gave me another car as replacement, but then the car still not as clean as I expected, and the exterior had quite lots of scratch marks and dents (as photo shown)

My only comment is that there was no space for luggage in the vehicle as none of the 15 seats could be removed or folded down. This made it very difficult loading and unloading large cases and a double buggy. This wasn't made clear on booking the vehicle. The vehicle itself was great and certainly large enough but all seats were static!

All staff had a difficult time pronouncing my last name that starts with the letter Y. I suppose in their culture it is pronounced with an H sound as in “hard”. So I had to do a little training on one of the staff. She was very appreciative and had a good attitude. That made it OK for me.

Car , inside and out dirty ( chairs in the back dirty) Tires were being inflated while waiting for the car . I was thinking this is the part of my he process but obviously not, because we had to fill the air few times while renting the car. Major inconvenience an extra expense which they knew about . Then we were told that the gas tank is full then I looked and it wasn’t it was less than 3/4 full which that’s another little lie have not experienced something like this before and I hope I will never experience again but I will not rent from that particular rent a car not a good experience. Waiting at the airport to be picked up that’s another nightmare kept calling the office kept calling the office nobody was picking up them finally they came terrible experience all in all .

They picked us up 45 minutes late. They took us on a minivan to a trailer office. They told me they don't open until 6am and my flight leaves at 730am, so it wouldn't work for us by returning the vehicle, but the most disappointing issue was the insurance. They tell you that your own insurance is not enough and pretty much force you to get their insurance, which janks up the price. Avoid these scammers is my humble advice.

Keywords: scam, thievery, crooks, avoid. This company has a couple different names - Nextcar and OneSwitch. There may have been a third but I can’t remember. They operate in bait and switch mode. You will pay a price upfront (using a service like kayak, extending to something else like Queeq.com) but that will change significantly upon arrival. No insurance is good enough. While standing there, waiting for an eternity, 2 people walked out the door infuriated with the price changes. I would have followed in their footsteps, had I not already been delayed nearly an hour waiting for their ridiculous shuttle to take me to the office from the airport. I was on a very strict time constraints and forced to stay with this service. My $89 rental became $277 with the additional insurance charges and being forced to rent their sunpass box at $11 a day, plus the tolls. If I chose to decline the Sunpass, I would have had to pay each individual toll plus a $25 fee for each one. The exterior is filthy, with trash cans overflowing, the lobby is fairly clean, but bathrooms are disgustingly dirty. I could go on forever about how unhappy I was with this company, but I will just summarize by saying AVOID!

The car was much bigger than the one we selected which was fine except for the gas usage. They charged a $1000 deposit even though we purchased coverage through EasyRentCars and had my own auto insurance. They also did not give me a receipt at drop off and then charged me an additional $120 without contacting me or giving me a reason for the additional charges. We arrived in Orlando at midnight and waited approx 20-25 min for a ride to the rental location .I was charged as was everyone in the the office additional charges to our rental because we were from out of the USA it’s called HIF or in my words discrimination Charge which means you pay 3.95 extra plus tax per day even if you have insurance of your own it supposedly covers your deductible cost if you are in an accident lol you cannot rent the car no matter what if you don’t pay up front No where was this ever disclosed until we arrived . We will not rent from them again !

Our overall review on the hire company during my stay was very good. I was dealt efficiently at the desk and returning the car was simple. Now I've returned to the UK my opinion has completely changed. At the desk I was asked if I required any further excess insurance but I told the agent that I already had that cover through a company in the UK. He seemed fine with that. At that point he asked me to sign the paperwork but unbeknown to me I was signing for the Excess Insurance which I had already told him was not required. At no point did he explain about the insurance so I'd been tricked into buying this cover. An obvious case of misselling but no doubt a good commission for him. The rental car fuel policy was full to full which is normal practice. He recommended that I pay for a full tank of fuel at approx $40 so that I could bring back the vehicle empty with no extra cost. That way when I came to fill up towards the end of the vacation it would be far cheaper than if I had to refill myself-another blatant lie as I filled up on a number of occasions in various parts of Florida and never cost me more than $30. Sounds like another little scam for the rental company. I wasn't of course aware of any of these issues until I returned to the UK. I'm now faced with a bill of $419.72 for Excess Insurance which I'm contesting. Unfortunately their malpractice has spoilt what was a wonderful vacation.

Horsepower Car Rental is a very small company. The Toyota had 68000+ miles on it. There were very vary many small dents and scratches on the vehicle. Take pictures and video of the car and spare tire, always. The car had a toll transponder in it. I was never told until I picked up the car that I would have to pay $7.95/day for this service. This option was not by choice; it was required. I have ALWAYS paid Florida tolls as I go. Not a choice with Horsepower. It is MANDATORY! I will NEVER rent a vehicle from Horsepower again and I do NOT recommend them.

We landed late in the evening. We didn't know that the rental place was off-site, and had to look back through email to find a telephone number for the shuttle. It was 45 minutes from phone call to pick up. Once back in the office, we were told we need to buy a toll pass with an up front charge and a daily rate. Our insurance wasn't one of the seven they accepted, so, guess what? Another charge to pay for their insurance. I'm doing the math during this whole sales pitch and realizing we're aren't saving anything, and we are renting from a place that's 10 minutes from the terminal. Oddly enough, the employee said, "If this is too much, we can just take you back to the airport." So, that's what we did. We rented from a national company, which ended up being about the same price, right there in the airport, and had no trouble. But, our vacation started with 2 hours down the drain just to end up with no car from Horspower (why'd you take the "e" out of that word, anyway?). I wasn't comfortable with the up front charges, and it made me afraid that we were in for a big surprise when we returned the car. I guess we'll never know.

Counter staff was rude and couldn’t clearly explain what the extra fees were that he was charging us. He also tried to scam us into paying $10/day for the EZPass for video toll roads. It’s actually quite easy to avoid going on those roads. Flex seemed like the economical way to go, but in fact, ended up costing just as much as a car rental in the airport terminal, which would have been much more convenient.

Eddy and his brother a very professional and knowledgeable people and they DO offer a very good customer service. The check-in process very fast, no long lines like in big companies. They offered me a mid-size type of vehicle, instead of my compact-one without any charges And I really did like that they haven't tried to up sell me their insurance. The deposit was of a 200$, not like other companies, where it can go up to 500$ or 1.000$. I'm pleased and everything was very smooth !

Not enough staff working there. Had to wait for a long time to get our car. Staff tried to scare us with issues concerning insurance even though we assured them that we had adequate coverage. Car was new and in great condition. No complaints about the car.

My voucher was for $142.65. I declined all extra insurance, gas, etc. When I was handed my bill, it came to $187.79. This is because Value adds, without asking permission, a fee for "RSA" of $3.99 per day. "RSA" apparently is "road side assistance." I immediately told the desk person I did not approve that. She said it was too late to remove this unapproved charge, and I should call their office. This is the second time they have done this to me. This is outright theft. Also, I was told when I returned the car that I would be emailed my final bill, and I wasn't.

Yes, i'm really not pleasant with the car, not only was not what we chose as well as the windshield wiping nothing having greatly delayed our travel times. we should be reimbursed for some amount of what we payed as it was very unfair and even dangerous what happened. and to finish, there was a light on the board that the guy told us that would desperate, but that did happened.

I was overcharged $2.40 when I picked up the car. My total rental price was supposed to be $75, of which $15 was paid during online booking and $60 to be paid at pick-up. At pick-up I was billed $62.40, ($2.40 more than the agreed $60 on my reservation). The customer service rep at the counter could not provide a satisfactory reason for the extra charge. I demand a refund the $2.40 extra charge or I will not use your services again.
